When I was still studying I been riding a school bus to and from home. My house is 30 minutes ride away from the school I was studying (our school bus is actually a Philippine Jeep). My uncle who owned a jeep would fetch us to and from the school. When I was in high school, the school I studied is 45 minutes away from the house, during my first three years I use to commute in public transportation but when I was in fourth year my friends( who also live in the same town and some lower level students who live in the same town) hired a jeep to fetch us to and from the school. And that is how our school service story goes.
How about yours?

When I'm i primary school, my parents will send me to school but both of them can't make it to pick me after school, so i have to follow a school bus home. It's a yellow and black bus, quite new and clean, even better than the public bus. Sometime, we even have air-con bus.
When i was in secondary school, me and my friends who live near my house choose to walk home after school. It's just some sweet old days.

When i was a kid, i used to go to school in a cycle rickshaw. My school was about 3 kms away from my home. and i would use to travel ina cycle rickshaw for both ways journey btw home and school. When i grew a little older, around when i was in 6th standard, I would use to go to school by my own bicycle. My father bought me a new bicycle and luckily, he would buy me a new cycle on my every b'day. so i continued to go to school by bicycle till my 10th standard. Though I had learnt to ride a scooter or a motorbike, my parents didnt allow me to go to school by the same.
Then i moved to a different city for studies and coaching and i was more focussed on my coachings rather than school. and i would use to go to my coaching centre by a cycle or rather walking. It wasn't that far away from my place. Hardly 5-10 minutes walk.
Later on when i moved to college(in a different city again), I used to live in the hostel which was inside my college campus, so i didnt have any mode of transport and any travel out from college, i would go by bus. but later after 2 years, luckily my brother moved abroad and as a result, i got to own his bike for the rest of my college life.

My Mom was a teacher, and her school was somewhere close to ours. So, we used to take the public bus for many years. Then, we hired a rickshaw, a three-wheeler. Many school kids do that, hiring the rickshaw, I mean. And now, things have changed. Many schools have the school bus facility, which is nice I think. Expecting kids to take the public transport is a bit too much. The buses are overcrowded these days.
Cheers and happy mylotting

Here is a nice picture for you. Our rickshaws look like this, but the color is different. We have yellow and black rickshaws here.

My daughter rides the bus to school. It is the yellow and black sort that I even rode to school. She has a daily morning time to be picked up. And an afternoon schedule for the drop off.

When I was still in my elementary, I used to ride a school bus, and each bus has a route to take. I think there were a total of 6 buses. My route is taken by BUS 4. I make friends with people in the bus. It was really fun belonging in a school bus because teachers and students tend to be concerned when you are not around.

I think I have been when I was in elementary, my uncle also owns a jeepney and fetch me. My house is far from the school, 15 kilometers distance I think. High school, that was funny if I would ride a school bus, the school is just 300 meters away from the house LOL . In college I have to ride public transport, the school is more than 15 kilometers away
I don't want to have a school bus when I was in college, my time would be restricted and no more time for my extra curricular activities.

I usually rode the school bus as a kid. We only lived a little over a mile from the school, so it wasn't difficult to walk if we missed it. I always had a lot to carry, though because of my saxaphone, book bag (we used a gym bag, as backpacks weren't popular then.) and my big red plastic lunch box. If I missed the bus, I would be huffing and puffing from carrying all that stuff up and down hills. I grew up in Southern Indiana (USA). My daughter takes the bus now for nearly one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon. She goes to a school in the next town. I drive my son to his school (we live in rural Colorado) because he has to be there one hour early for jazz band. I remember that the bus always seemed crowded and the ride was bumpy. I was glad not to walk in the cold, snowy winter days though. I think that the people who make decisions about saftey and design of school busses need to put seat belts on them.

Yes, when I was in my younger years of studying, i used to ride a school bus..it was indeed a very happy experience, sometimes when we are in the bus and about to fetch someone and is nearing in their home, we shout as loud as we can calling the name of the one to be fetch..along the way we go singing and laughing and telling each other our story..yes, it was a bonding for both the students and sometimes the parents and of course, the ever kind brother driver..

I had a service ( much popular name for school bus ) when i was in high school, way back elementary i don't need to have one because my school was 5 minutes away from our house ( walking distance but still gets to school late!haha ) Happy mylotting!
