Do you enjoy listening to music that was made before you were even thought of?
I am 23 and i love bands and artists such as: Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Doors, The Beatles and many many more.
What about you? Do you listen to older music or do you just try to keep up with your own generation musically?

I like all of the artists that you named. I fit so perfectly in that time era, personality wise. I focus more on music of the past because I get more out of it mentally. Some of today's music is okay, but I don't have a deep connection with most of it. I will listen to Pink Floyd and connect on a deeper level than I would with a rock band of today.

That's great that you listen to music outside your sterotypical genre! I love Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, the Doors and Beatles too! But I'm 39 so most of those bands/singers are closer to my era. But to answer your question: yes, I have always loved music from times before mine. Otis Redding is an example. My favorite all time song is Sittin by the dock of the bay. It is the ring tone for my cell phone and I've loved it since I was in my 20's. I remember my friends being like "your favorite song is what?". I can't keep up with some of today's music. I am primarily a country fan but like others like Josh Groban too.

I do like music that was before my time. However, before my time is a little different than yours. When I think of "old" music, I think of Hank Williams, Scruggs and Flatts(?), old blue grass groups, and old county stuff. And, even some of the swing bands and crooners of that era.

I like a lot of songs from the 60s. I was born in one of the last few days of 1979. A lot of the older generation would be surprised if I tell them that Nina Simone, Eartha Kitt, Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles, Beach Boys, The Mamas and the Papas are several of my favorite musicians/singers/bands. I enjoy Motown Hits and "jazzy" classics from Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, etc... I enjoy pop music every now and then but lately, I can't keep track of who sings what.
