Do you get angry if someone spells your name wrong????

as my name is not easily spelled, i will understand if people often misspell my name. before i also get mad and even think to take proper legal action against them but now i am getting used to that. so i will just nicely correct them, or if it's not necessary to have my name correctly spelled, i will just let it be. anyway, you get a nice name. does vidhya means knowledge, education or something related with them?

my name prem...but sometimes people write my name as pream....and i cant tolerate writing my name like that....... i dont how they are writing my name as 'pream'...huh.thats terrible 4 me.... And when calling me ..and remembering my name.....often some people call me as praveen.....i cant get how these people converting prem to praveen...hmm... but i dont get angry though,i l tel them in a lighter note how they can spell my name wrong?...

vidyhyavini hi yes I do as Patsie Hatley is not that hard to spell. but I get Patsy Hateley, or Hartley, or Haley or' Hadley or Hatly but not hatley and sometimes I get Patsoe Hately which I really hate ugh. Hatley.what is so hard about that. Patsie what is so hard about that. I correct them as I dislike being called Hately,sounds hateful. Even when I had my first baby they got things mixed up, brought me a girl with name of Hadley and also she was colored and I am caucasian so they should have known they had the wrong baby. I had a boy, white, Hatley so they did get it straightened out the negro mama screaming this isnt my baby what did you do with my baby? She came to every room then spied her baby in the nurses arm and she said I apologize mrs here is your baby, nice little boy this one. We became friends while I was in there.

I will correct that. It is very easy for people to write the name wrong. If that person is someone I don't know I will just correct him and will not be angry. But if that person is one of my friends, I will think he is not seriously to make me his friend, and I should make him as someone else rather than a friend. Being angry is bad for my health, I should be happy all the time.

well my name has only 4 letter A-N-N-A so people usually spell it right. My last name however it really long and people often miss spell it. I don't get annoyed or mad because it is understandable.

Vidhya your getting annoyed for someone misplacing the letter 'h' in your name,but for me some people instead of telling my name as "Divin" they will say it as devil.I wont get angry for that I will just tell them its 'Divin' not 'devil'.If you get irritated for that simple reason of misplacing a word,I should kill that person for calling me a devil.Hehe.LOL.Happy to hear from you that you don't like to be called as Vidya.Cheers to you.Happy mylotting.

No, not really. But then again I don't use my actual name on here so there's no reason for me to get upset over something like this. However people have misspelt my mylot username several times now. It is sacmom, not sacmon. LOL Not a big deal, though I do wish I would have chosen something prettier for my username. The only reason I chose this one to begin with was because I couldn't think of anything else at the time and with being a mom in the Sacramento area, sacmom was the best I could come up with. LOL

no, i don't get angry. people have a tendency to add an e to my last name. i just tell them in a nice way it doesn't have an e. you have an unusual mane & i wouldn't know how to spell it either if u told me your name. nothing to get irrated about i don't think.

It happen to me sometimes my name is SARAH and sometimes they write it sara with h so i always tell them that the spell of my name is wrong and they get confused and then i explain it i dont get angry just irirtate sometimes.

I am chinese and my last name is difficult for most people. I've gotten used to it so i don't mind much. I just say "yeah it's spelled like that ^^".

ya vidhya.. i wont like someone misspelling my name.. actually my nickname is vicky and in sms i see that name with different spellings such as viky, vikkey and so on showing different combinations and another worst thing is some people write my name as vigneswaran.. even i hate that too

It doesn't bother me. My name is Cecelia and people spell it wrong all the time. The thing that bothers me more is when I answer the phone, people thing I'm a man. My voice is a little low but not that low. Very irritating.

As long as they dont spell it in a rude way lol thats fine with me,but no I really dont mind if someone spells my name wrongly,it doesnt really matter,and there are some names that are very hard to spell so we all would just take our very best guess at the spelling.and some names are quite hard to pronounce too,but I will just try my best.

Not at all. I think it's OK. I just tell them my correct spelling of my name and that's all. Everybody will make the mistake but they don't do it on purpose. I love China

Yes, this of course in annoying. People, sometimes, do the same thing with my name also, which I consider, is not too difficult to spell. But, normally, either I ignore the same, if it is done for the first time, or I correct them politely. But, still this leaves somewhat a bad feeling inside me. I wonder, how much people are ignorant or they just don't care for other's feelings. Anyway, world is like that only and this kind of things are more frequent then not.

Hi dear well my name is not that difficult but if still some one spell it wrong i dont get mad as i know differnt people have their own spelling and conceptions, so its Ok and some people write name in differnt spelling, like ur name can be pronounced correctly without "H" as well Take care

It doesn't bother me if someone spells my name wrong. I have an easy name to spell, it is only a few letters, Chris, but believe it or not a lot of people spell it Cris. I don't get it because it is just about like christmas so why the confussion? But it doesn't matter to me if they spell it wrong. I can see why someone would spell your name wrong. I have never even heard of your name before. So I would probably spell it wrong too, I am sure. If someone spells my name wrong I just ignore it and don't correct it. I can understand if someone mispelled my name.We are not all perfect.We made mistakes sometimes.I do mispelled names sometimes also.So we just have to understand each other.

i don't really care if someone spells my name or says my name incorrectly, maybe it's because they're not just used to saying or typing foreign names, and i can understand it. heck, im a foreigner too (not american), and i've seen so many people who spell or say my name incorrectly, and i'm okay with that :) but making fun of my name just because it sounds soooo different is different issue, and that ticks me off
