Part time jobs are definitely a bad thing for students as they take away time from being able to study and enjoy socialising which is a big part of the university experience, but unfortunately a lot of students cant afford living costs unless they work some sort of a job so more and more people have to work in order to stay alive let alone enjoy their lives.

I agree with your opinion. I used to have a part time job when I was in college for financial purposes. Though I don't have problem with my grades but I always missed the friends night out, etc.

i don't think so. as long as you know how to balance your time and never forget to take care of your studies it won't be bad for you. you can even benefit from it because it can help you financially.;-)

yes,you will befit from it if you can balance your study and part-time job.as a student ,studying is her goal and task, and at last in order to work when you graduated from university.so we need to arrange the part-time job time reasonable.

surely. part time job for students is bad. well, if they do not have any financial suport or are hard on money then may be they can take up. but by working they will only grow interest in more and more earnings but not in studies. and hence their studies and grades declines. with these studies of today who know they may become world famous scientist. or for that matter any big great personality. so education is most important than job for a very very good job.

PART time is good for student because it make the the student independent and it is helpful for the parents.student doesnot waste their time ,instead of killing the time they have earned the money for themselves. only the intellgent student can do the part time .those who are not according to class the cannot a have time for part time job .because the part time have responsibility also.if he who is not according to class how he will bear the responsibility of job .to earn money is not a easy job. work hard is necessary to have a part time job. only intelligent and hardwrkingand punctul student can do part time job.it is very hard to do part time job with study

i've held part-time jobs when i was studying. i don't feel that there was any impact for my studies. i was in the afternoon session so i worked from 7am to 12nn before going to school. that is for days with school. for weekends, i usually work between eight to twelve hours. it's a really good feeling to earn my own keep, not to mention that i can buy things i want without having to explain to my parents. cheers ;p

I did a part-time job when i was studying. The good thing is i make money. The thing is i lost my study time. In my opinion, the situation depends. IF you can find a part-time job that is related to your study, then it is good for you in the sense that you can gain practical experiences. Else, you are just spending your time working which supposed to be studying. That's not too bad too if you can arrange your time properly so that it wouldn't affect your study. It's totally depend on individual.

it depends upon the student if he is good he will be able to concentrate on both things but i think part time job is bad for a student bcos a person can concentrate only on one thing at time

I think it depends on the person and the circumstances. I work part-time and take classes. It isn't easy to get the school work done. There are many nights where I will stay up past midnight to get the work completed and turned in on time. I don't have a choice of whether to work. If a person has the option, I would say they should focus on their studies.

i have not tried having a part time job but i think it's not bad when you have one. i think it can make you more responsible and efficient as a person.

Well, as a high school student I actually held two part time jobs at one point and it was too much. One probably would have been good. YOu think I would have learned my lesson but when I went to college I took on three part time jobs at once and wound up dropping out. Kids need to realize there's more to life than money.

A part time job can be good and bad. It is bad because they might work and earn money instead of studying and learning. But if the student is 24/7 into his books, a part time job can be only good. It becomes a way to get away from your studies and have a break from them. Also some people need little time to study and some need a lot. So it really depends on what kind of person it is.

I think being able to handle a part-time job while studying is a very positive thing to do. Especially if you are able to secure part-time work that is relevant to your studies. It helps you to gain experience in the workforce and potential employers will see your ability to multitask and handle the pressures of both at the same time very positively as well. I have interviewed many people fresh out of studies and will always be more impressed with those that have studied AND managed to work as well.

I think, it will really depend on the student. If he/ she can do two things at the same time, then it wouldn't be bad. There are a lot of students I know who became strivers during their college and they were very good in their studies. Some of them got honors when they graduated. Have a nice day!

I really think it's a case-to-case thing. Depending on one's personality and character, having a part-time job could either be a boon or a bane. It's positive in that it helps students be more disciplined. They learn to manage their time wisely and be responsible at an earlier stage. However, it can also be a distraction. Some students are so greedy that all they can think of is the short term money. A lot of kids think they can live off by working part time so they decide to work instead of pursue a better education.

Yes i do had a part-time job before,I think when you are student and doing part-time job i think it is not good cause you must concentrate with your study and also if you had work at the same time studying the time will be really problems,so i dont think so working student it a good idea but some of people do work cause they pay there own tuition pay so we cant blame time.

Why not? Part-time is a good thing for you to put some time in. Personally, it's because you step out, that you gain opportunities and chances to become successful, or even another step closer to your dreams! Even if it's not a good job, such as not paying you good, or tedious, too-tiring... It's a place for you to learn and express what you have learnt. Life is too boring without things to do, and you can never get tired since there are so many things to do and learn. As long as you are able to concentrate on your studies, it's a good idea for you to start a job.
