Has trying to make money online changed the way you look at humanity?

Making money online is definitely made much more difficult by all the scammers out there. From PTC owners who run off without paying their users to promoters who knowingly recruit others to join deceptive programs, the GPT world seems full of dishonesty. Most GPT veterans do seem to at least become a little wary -- if not paranoid -- when it comes to assessing the newest, biggest online opportunity because they have all been burned before, often multiple times. Have all the scams online made you change the way you look at your fellow human? Do you see a scammer in every corner, even in real life, now?
Personally, I have a suspicious mind by nature, so I don't think GPT has changed me too much. I do think it has made me sharper, though. I think I'm much less likely to be scammed in real life now because of my online experiences -- it's amazing how many of the excuses that friends make when they don't want to repay a loan are exactly the same as those used by online site owners who don't want to pay their members! I try to keep perspective by reminding myself that the people involved in the online moneymaking world aren't necessarily representative of humanity as a whole. Money often seems to bring out the very worst in people; I doubt I'd run into nearly so many scammers if I frequented knitting blogs instead of trying to make extra cash online, for instance. I also try to remember all the honest people in this business as well -- there are many.

This is why I love this forum so much. Since I am new to this online money making stuff I have been coming here for advice. I have joined a few sites based on information that I have found here and so far so good (although I have yet to hit payout, so I don't know how that will work)
There are so many sites out there it is hard to wade through them all, but having discussions like this with real people with real experiences is invaluable.

I totally agree. I can't tell you how many scams I've avoided based on information in a forum or on a blog. My suspicious mind always makes me research opportunities before leaping, but if it weren't for people willing to spend their time warning others my due diligence wouldn't pay off. In fact, as I was writing the post and thinking about the honest people of GPT, a couple of site owners and several members on this forum were the first people who came to mind.

i too have a suspicious mind and tend to think the worst of people. I do think there are so many con artists out there, but I also believe that i miss out on so many opportunities because I am too suspicious.

It's definitely hard to know when to take risks and when to play it safe -- I still struggle with that. I usually choose to risk my time rather than my money unless I really see a great opportunity, which of course has directly led me to losing much more time than I have money!
