I have been a Simpsons fan since i was little and i still watch it. Most people think the Simpsons is just a comedy show that makes us laugh. Most of it is comedy but some parts don't make you laugh like the halloween episodes and the sad episodes. What do you think the Simpsons is all about?

I have always enjoyed the Simpsons myself and consider it to be a really good parody of life in general. There are so many angles they take on so many issues and they do it is such a way that you can't help but see the humour in it all reather than end up offended. What I really like about the episodes too are the little side jokes here and there ranging from the sign outside the church to billboards and book titles etc. Many people might miss these little things but some of them are hilarious! They do push the boundaries sometimes but do it very, very well.

Well, I suppose The Simpsons is mainly targeted to entertain the audience, and I disagree with you when you say the Halloween Episodes do not make you laugh. It's absolutely when they make a parody of some horror films, e.g The Shining as The Shinning was really funny.

I love The Simpsons for its educative satires. It's funny but enlightening at the same time although some of the parodies can be quite extreme at times.

I would consider the simpsons to be satire aswell as comedy.

It's just a cartoon man, it's not about anything. If it has to be about something then maybe it's about life's struggles and how we get through them. The satire is that the Simpson's are suppose to be the "typical" American family but the reality is that they are anything but "typical."
