I am a smoker also unfortunately! There is no question we are paying for the chance to kill ourselves far earlier than anyone who doesn't smoke and this 90 year old man is certainly an exception. All we can do is respect those around us that do not smoke and keep it a guilty pleasure as isolated from non-smokers as is possible!

I do want to stop one day yes. I have done so before many times in the past and it is definitely on my agenda to do the same again. I just need to stop making excuses and try!

That is so weird but interesting. I don't smoke either but there are more people that die from smoking than the non smokers. Unfortunately, there are some non smokers that ended up getting some kind of lung diseases as well as other types that are out nowadays. I wish I could explain it but since I don't know how that is possible, it is weird to me.

I was told that all of us were born with some cancer in our body. Depending on what we did to ourselves, the cancer will either grow or not. It have everything to do with our environment, whether we eat right, etc. I once heard why the asian smokers are healthier than the non asians of when it comes to smokers. The asians are able to be healthier because they eat seaweed. Seaweed is good for you whether you wanted to know that. Seaweed can be eaten raw or rolled up in a roll like california roll. I love that stuff. I could eat that all day if I wanted to.

definitely, smoking is bad for anyone's health. especially, for the smoker themselves. we have different biological makeups that is why.

Hi bombshell, Maybe he smokes moderalety? LOL! ANyway, I have no idea about this but maybe when it is just a stick or two a day, it will not really harm the person unlike those who smokes almost a pack a day, I believe in the saying " too much is always dangerous! LOL!

I recently read somewhere that it is our belief that smoking is harmful that actually does the most harm! I bet that the ones who live to a ripe old age, healthy and hearty, are the ones who are not bothered by that belief! I personally believe that our bodies respond to the thoughts we think and the beliefs we hold, and that it is more important to change your beliefs than to change your actions. Therefore I continue to smoke because it is relaxing and gives me pleasure, and I ignore any invitations to worry about my health.

Smoking "may cause" cancer. It is not mandatory. Smoking "increases" the probability of cancer. One may or may not die of cancer even if he smokes or does not smoke. One also has to have a tendency for cancer. "Smoking is Dangerous to your health" doesn't only mean that you will be affected by cancer. There could be other diseases too, caused by smoking such as asthma, high blood pressure etc. Someone who is in good health and has a strong life line could cross 90 with smoking for whole life
