I don't get it why people or not all the people but most of them wants to drink with a straw. Whenever I go out with my wife or other relatives they actually demand for a straw even if the beverage is served in a glass or something. Especially soda, I prefer to drink it without a straw because it soothes and quenches our thirst. The only drinks that you should put straw in my opinion are frozen drinks like slush and slurpee, but soda, I don't think so. Well this is just my opinion. Happy posting.

Yeah and the liquid should linger to our lips not straight to our throats.

I prefer drinking with a straw. That way the ice doesn't crash against my teeth or I accidentally suck a piece down and start choking on it. Also, it keeps me from having a moustache. I hate it when I drink from a glass and discover that I've sprouted a sticky moustache. If I don't have a straw, then I'll try to drink it in a way that it doesn't go above my lip.
Now if I'm drinking straight from a can or bottle, I won't use a straw.

There are other reasons than the obvious. I drink with a straw, unless I'm drinking coffee or some other hot beverage, my teeth are very sensitive to cold. By using a straw I avoid the uncomfortable feeling of the cold beverage hitting my teeth.

I only use a straw when in public places. One reason is because if it is carry out most times the cup will have a lid on it. The other reason most people ask for a straw in public is that I think that we think subconsciously that someone's mouth may have been on the glass. LOL or everyone's for that matter.

I feel that having a drink with out a straw is more comfortable. We can have the drink a little bit faster and we can really feel it when it touches our lips.Straws never give such comfort. One more thing I really hate is,people making sounds while having the last sip of their drink. Its really irritating to me...But we can even have some fun with straws. Some blow air into their drinks and that sound is really funny. We used to do that in our class.

The beverages available here in Pakistan are both in glass bottles and tin. If I am drinking Coca Cola, soft drinks or any other beverages in glass bottles, I always have preferred drinking with a straw but if the drink is served in a glass whether in my home or at any restaurant I drink without using straw. In my opinion, people who drink using straw are a little more health consious but don't they think that while drining using straw aren't they drinking from the glass.

Well it really depends on the drinks. But to soda I also drink it using a straw because I like to take or drink sod little by little. I am not fond of soda. But i drink. As a girl, I usually drink with a straw especially if eating outside because I don't want my lipstick be smudge or removed. LOL. I don't know to others. LOL. Well since I am a coffee lover even outside the house, I know you know where I drink it. LOL. Take care =)

If the drink is served in a disposable container I do not require a straw, but if it is served in a glass I would like to have a straw. I have a problem putting my mouth on the glass that strangers before me has used. That's just one of my pet peeves. You never know how well the glasses are cleaned and I would rather be comfortable by using a straw.

I don't really care whether i drink something with straw or just off of the cup, but for me, drinking something with a straw is just more comfortable for me. Actually, i would prefer not to be picky whether i should drink it with a straw or just off of a cup...

I prefer to drink with straw only if I drink softdrinks or iced tea. When I drink water, I don't use a straw. Using a straw when drinking softdrinks or iced tea really gives me a different level of satisfaction.

I never ask for straw because usually they will provide straw. If didn't provide with straw then I just drink without it. For me there is no problem if don't have straw.

I don't really like straws that much. And also, do you know that you can get a lot of germs and bacterias from straws?

I prefer using a straw to drink soda. Why? The darker colored sodas can stain your teeth, so I feel like if I use a straw, it doesn't coat my teeth the same way drinking from a glass, bottle, or can does. Plus, drinking through a straw means you're not icing the heck out of your lips when the ice moves towards your mouth when leaning the glass in for a sip. Personal preference is all!

No, I somehow feel less manly using a straw and whenever I drink through a straw I always still feel thirsty once I've finished the drink.
