I just saw a report about this on the news. A-Space is a myspace-esque social networking site for "spies". People from different intelligence agencies are supposed to share thoughts on different issues concerning national security. It is also designed to share classified information online. I don't know about you but the idea of top secret information available on the Internet makes me uneasy.

I had never thought about it that way. I guess you're right. It is a funny image though. All those top secret spies on assignment somewhere in the corners of the world coming together to swap stories of success and failure and counter terrorism. I'm still uneasy about the idea of hackers but I guess they make sure it's secure.

The interesting thing Alexx08 is that these agencies are already extremely active within social siyes already! Even virtual worlds like Second Life have the presence of agencies like the CIA because people use these mediums for recruitment for terrorism and things like that. They also communicate via international databases today as it is with global entities like Interpol sharing massive amounts of information using the same online mediums we all use. The fact of the matter is that a vast amount of this information is already there! The problem is that it exists in many formats and in multiple places. Bringing it all together could be a very smart move. I see tremendous benefit in monitoring international criminal activity with an approach like this, they just have to ensure that the back end security is second to none!
