Why do we get goose bumps with certain songs?

Yes I get this all the time. However there is this one time that I really had goose bumps, teary eyed and smiled with a song. It was "Road Rage" by Catatonia a Welsch band from the 90's fronted by Cery Matthews. It started when I saw there concert on the tube. Amazed by the crowd with her sterling performance and inclined by the beauty of the song. The crowd sang every word of it. That was the first time I encountered that song well of course I already knew their first hit before this song came to my life. One day I was strolliing around a mall in front of our college and I happened to drop by at this rare cd store and surprisingly they were selling Catatonia International Velvet is the title of the album and without hesitation I grabbed it and paid it cold cash. Rushed outside and put it inm my cd player and wore my headphones. That was it, while I wa crossing the street I shivered and felt joy like a child that received his ever favorite lollipop. It was Nirvana. Thanks. Nice discussion.

Cerys is lovely isn't she. We don't hear much of her nowadays though, do we.

I get goose bumps with certain songs when they make me think of something or bring out a strong emotion. The song Arms Wide Open by Creed reminds me of when I found out I was going to have my son. It used to give me goose bumps. I hardly hear the song anymore, but it might still have the same effect.

I imagine your emotion was very strong, given that you were to experience one of life's miracles in the near future.
Life is far better when we are happy isn't.
