How Much Faster Do You Drive Over The Speed Limit?

It is probably safe to say that each and every one of us has at one time or another, driven even just a little bit faster than the posted speed limit. That being said, I want to know, how far do you push it?
Granted, if you drive 1 MPH over the speed limit a cop isn't going to pull you over. So what about 5 MPH over, what about 10 MPH? How far do you push the envelope when it comes to speeding and driving faster than the posted speed limit?

I usually drive no more than 10 miles over the speed limit, so long as it is clear in front of me. I have noticed the majority of drivers around here do the same. Heck, even the cops around here drive faster than the posted speed limit! LOL Okay, so that's no excuse to do this, but I haven't been pulled over for going 5 or 10 miles over the speed limit...at least not yet!

In the uk there was a kind of unwritten law that you could travel at 10% + 2mph over the designated speed limit without being pulled. So 30mph speed limit would mean 35mph was safe and 79mph on motorway with limit of 70mph and so on. This was due to inaccuracy of speedometers in cars.
Mind you they seem to be clamping down on that as a friend of mine was caught doing 33 mph in a 30 mph zone.
So, how fast have you driven or riden and not been caught?
185mph on my motorbike was a real buzz, would have lost my licence if caught but hey i wasnt. I know its not big and its not clever but this was when i was young and foolish. Im a responsible kind of guy now

Well, I do not drive, as I choose not to drive due to other Health issues, but I know when it comes to my husband it depends on where he is going, and if it is a long drive, or a short trip somewhere. Sometimes it will also depend on if he is running late as well. Most of the time he is pretty good and will try to stick close to the speed limit to avoid getting any tickets, but when we are on a long drive somewhere unless he puts on the cruise control, he has been known to overdo it a little as well.

I do speed a bit but I never really drive a lot faster than the posted speed limit signs. If I speed in towns or city limits or whatever I only drive a few miles over the speed limit. Sometimes I'll drive a bit faster in areas where I know it's not likely for a cop to be. However if I am driving on the interstate or something I've been known to drive about 10 miles over the speed limit.
One time I was driving 10 miles over the limit and saw a huge line of police cars behind me. I thought for sure I was going to get pulled over so I slowed down a bit. However, the police were driving about 10 miles faster than I was or more and drove right past me. So I guess they kind of pick and choose their battles.
