When I was a kid, we had a goldfish named "Charlie." My mom always ordered special made Christmas cards, and the year Charlie came to live with us, he got his picture and name on our Christmas card.
When my son was little, he won one of those goldfish that they give as prizes at fairs...that never seem to live very long. "Goldie" lived for years! He (or she?) actually came to the surface of the tank when we walked in the room, and it wasn't always for food. The goldfish loved being stroked.

when I got my first gold fish as a pet, they came in 2. They were so big and they always play around the aquarium so I named them "mommy" and "daddy". The bigger gold fish between the two I named "daddy" and the smaller one "mommy" even though I don't know if they're female or male. When the two got bigger, I bought another two gold fish. This time, one of the gold fish tail is color black and the other gold fish tail is color white. So I named the gold fish with the black tail "blackie" and the gold fish with the white tail "whitie" so that I could easily distinguish who is blackie and whitie.
Now, I got a plenty of gold fish in one of my aquarium. I got 3 aquarium in my house. So I don't give them names anymore. I call them "hoard" because they always stick to one another. It's like their a school of fish inside the aquarium.

I once had an axolotyl called Zeus! He was bright yellow, almost gold in colour, and was a great pet! I used to love all kinds of fish but mexican walking fish were my favourite because they were so unique. I also once had a standard goldfish called "Moby". I have heard of people calling their fish "Fluffy" before! Go figure! lol.

It seems like we always have goldfish. I am not even sure exactly how many we currently have. The ones we do have that I know of are all named after natural disasters. There is typhoon, hurricane, tornado, blizzard, whirlwind, and mudslide. Not sure how we chose the first one but after that it was sort of just a theme.
