I was able to visit my son, Cori today at the Metamorphasis rehab. center today. As you, my friends, know, he is in there for treatment of alcohol and drug abuse that started taking him from us at the tender age of 16 and from which wrapped it's ugly arms around him and would not let go no matter how much we pulled back.
He looks great! It was so wonderful to see him without that "drugged up" look in his eyes. When he went in he looked as if he was dying of Aids. He looks much more healthy now and says he is doing very well and even likes all the counselors. He said this was different from what we ever had him in before. They don't just ask "why do you use", but go beyond that into his personal thoughts and feelings before, during and after he used. It's much more in depth than anything he has been through before. And it was really nice to hear him say that even if he has to be there for the whole year, he is going to beat this thing.
Yes, of course I cried, and I couldn't seem to let go of him. But he was ok with that because we have always been close, me and my boys. I was able to visit with him for 2 hours, and you would think that would be long enough to tell all, but we could have talked forever, there was so much to say.
I want to thank all of you who have been praying for him ,and he told me to tell you all that somehow it seems that he can feel the good coming through and that it's probably because of the big prayer network you all have going on this network!! Thankyou all so much and please keep up the prayers. This addiction is bigger than anything he has ever dealt with and he needs all the help he can get. And prayer and God has got to be the bigger than this addiction, it just has to be,for I can't lose my baby, and if he doesn't make it this time, I don't know what there is for him in his future. He really is a great kid and I know he is a kid God would want to save, for he has so much to give yet to this world. I just can't lose him! Thanks to you all. I can never thank you enough for all the support you have given to me since I have started here on mylot and I hope that I have and can continue giving something back for all the hope you have given me.
