I know, I know. You're about to hit the, "uh, oh, this is a dirty post" button, aren't you? But it isn't. If you know me, you know I don't write "dirty" posts.
Today in our local newspaper, there was a quick blurb about a "new" product. New to the US, that is. Our neighbors in Canada probably know all about it.
The short article in the Cincinnati Enquirer says:
Duct tape is a homeowner's dream because it can fix so many things, especially if you're in a pinch. An invisible lubricant from Canada has similar appeal. Jig-a-Loo can silence squeaky doors and un-stick drawers.
Sounds a bit like our WD40...but...the article goes on:
It also repels water and prevents rust, so it can be used to clean lawn mower blades and prevent ice from sticking to shovels. The silicone-based spray goes on dry and is safe for wood, metal, leather, fabric and most plastics.
Sounds like that's better than our WD40, huh?
Of course, this "new" product is available at large discount retailers (you know the ones) and at hardware and and large home improvement stores.
So tell me. If you're from Canada and already using this, how do you Jig-a-Loo?
If you're not, will you rush out and buy this? How will you use it? Inquiring minds want to know. What will you do with your Jig-a-Loo?

Okay - so I'm not from Canada - and have never heard of Jig-a-loo. But - I am a huge fan of duct tape ! And must shamedly admit to using the stuff for all kinds of temporary and minor repairs...That being said - I would definitly try the Jig-a-loo if I saw it around my neck of the woods somewhere - mostly because of the rust prevention and WD-40 tends to wear off on squeaky hinges etc. As for using it on shovels and similar items - we do have a regular silicone spray available and I've even used that on the Sattelite dish to keep the snow from sticking - works pretty good !

I know if I see it, I'll probably have to try it too. I love the name.

I am Canadian and I tried Jig-a-Loo once and will never use it again. Especially in the summer - it tends to go a little rancid in the heat! Horrible stuff. Stay away from it. Personally, I'm a WD-40 gal and of course Duct Taped to the Max! LOL

I have never heard of Jig-a-loo and I am not sure if it sounds much different than WD40 except it sounds more expensive,I do love duct tape though and I feel that duct tape can fix anything, and everyone should carry a roll of duct tape in their vehicle and they should have a couple rolls in their house,I have seen green duct tape before and I thought it was kind of cool, and if I ever find any again I might buy it because at least it would be different.
