During my life I have had many kinds of relationships. There have been friends, co-workers, girl friends, 2 wives, clients and customers, cars, homes and gardens, teachers, students, spirit guides. The only relationships I still have from childhood and youth are with family. I tend to grow and leave most relationships behind. Are relationships necessarily impermanent?

I think for all relationship we have, it had never able to be permanent. You have reminded me something, yeah, we tends to grow and leave most relationship behind, such as teachers, school mates, co-workers, friends, etc. The more durable ones shall be family and relative relationships but then it depends on our life span. Take family or husband-wife relationship, no matter how good we maintain it, it'll still end when one day we leave the world or the other parties past away.
So, I think relationship is impermanent.

The answer is yes and no. Most of them are temporal as they are part of our life transitioning. Some are permanent as they cemented by the nature we relate with and to each other, for instance, long-time neighbours, best friends, spouses.

all that is created will be destroyed. that is the law of nature. make or break is in your hand. to retain it or not is in your hands. ultimately everything depends on your actions based on your individual choices.

Now that is all based on the person you have that relationships with and how close you were with each other.
