I have fibromyalgia, among other things and have been disables 3+ years now. My usual workout routine was walking on the treadmill, stretching my muscles, light 3-5 lb. weight traing, and floor exercises. My son's bike is here right now, because he is in treatment for addiction. So, today I decided to try to go for a bikeride. I made it a mile and a half and am very proud of myself. I feel if you don't keep on trying everyday to improve upon yourself, especially if you have a potentially debilitating disability, that life will only get worse for you. How many people with a disability out there do some kind of exercise, even very light strtching, which some days is all I can do??

Riding a bicycle is a very wonderful sports and I like it very much. Every week I will go out 1 or 2 times for cycling and ride about 50 kilometers. So please keep on riding. If you feel tired in the beginning, just have a rest and keep on next day.

I am extremely sorry of you being disabled for 3+ years. I have a outdoor bike too but its quite older model like of 1983 but looks like new. I bought it 3 years ago and ride it daily to come to work. I travel on my outdoor bike like 20 to 30 miles daily.

Excellent! I like to ride my bike to my office , to coffee shop where I meet friends, and almost everywhere. I recently bought a new Firefox fusion. Riding bike is a great exercise to keep yourself Fit and Healthy. I am not physically disabled but I think everybody who doesn't exercise (it could be anything) is a physically as well as mentally disabled person
Thanks!

I was so surprised when I read this Discussion from you.. I thought that you could not walk at ALL! I saw that you had a discussion that your husband was carrying you from one side of the house to the other! I am happy that you are able to get around!!
Getting back to the discussion: I agree that you need to use it or lose it as the saying goes.. I think that you did very well on the Bike. A mile and a half is pretty good. Keep up the good work.
