I am thankful for a lot of things. But the one thing I am thankful for was a surprise I got a few weeks ago. My mother and I are very close. We are like sisters. I haven't seen her for 1 year. I was really missing her one day. I went to the store to purchase a phone card to call her. That night, my aunt called me saying she is coming by to leave something for me. And I'm wondering what can that be. I found this unusual because I couldn't think of anything she could possibly leave for me. Anyway..I waited and waited. Finally I heard the door bell. I went to answer it and to my surprise there was my mother on the other side. I couldn't contain myself..I hugged her, kissed her, and dragged her all over the place. I am really thankful for that because she came at a time when I needed her.

Most of all I am thankful for my good health, for the great parents I was given who have now passed on, the wonderful childhood they gave me and one particular man that came into my life but has passed on also... I have a treasure trove of beautiful memories...

I am thankful for my life and a loving attentive husband. I am thankful for my kids and grandkids. I am thankful that tomorrow my dad will turn 85 years old and eat cake with me and my mom who is 82. I am thankful that I live in a country where I can read my bible and believe in GOD and I know without HIM I would have nothing to be thankful for.

I'm thankful for so much.
Not that anyone here knows me, but maybe what I'm thankful for will give a few people out there some insight on whats good in their lives too:
First and foremost, I'm thankful for my wonderful boyfriend. Since I've been going through some difficult times with my family, though they love me very much, its nice to have him to just be with and hang out and goof off with.
I'm thankful that I can afford to go to school, and that I am doing well. Right now theres nothing holding me back from being what I want to be (as corny as that may sound)
I'm thankful for my friends and for my cousins, who are always there for me, and I'm thankful for my schools newspaper, since its such a fun team to be on.
And then theres the cliche things that I'm thankful for, which shouldn't be left out either:
Being alive, and well for the most part, having food and money, well, enough money to get by at least.
Having a car that, as unreliable as it is, gets me to school and work and to the movies. Thankful for living in the US...though some of you may argue that its a curse, I love living here, especially since I have traveled to enough countries to know that living in the US, and in the DC metro area especially, is a hell of a blessing.

I am thankful that I have lived this long 53 years. After all the things I have done in my lifetime that were wrong. But, God has forgiven me and that is what matters. God Bless
