Would it rather be more humane and benificial for a grossly deformed fetus to be aborted now than to let it see the lihgt of day only to suffer and live a life of unbearable misery?

When I was 36 weeks pregnant I was told my baby has spina bifida. On the ultrasound his back looked like it has a gap in the lower spine. The hospital specialist in the fetal medical unit wasn't able to tell me if my baby would survive after he was born. He offered me an abortion and I said no way to that. We all just had to wait and see. My baby boy Leo was born at home in May 2007. He spent the first three weeks of his life in the intensive care baby unit. He had two operations and then came home when he was three weeks old. Now he is a happy little 15 month old and many people love him. He goes to a play group for disabled children and all of them are really lovely. Before a baby is born the hospital are not certain how bad the disability will be. Pregnant ladies should eat well and I would have my child not abort him or her. Children with disabilities are loving and whilst no pregnant lady wishes to have a disabled baby if they do support is the best thing they can be given. A disabled child can be given help but once aborted nothing would bring them back to life.

That's a decision that can only be made by the family who finds out there is something wrong with their pregnancy.
