how do you handle tantrums?

i have 2 kids and its really hard for me when they are having tantrums.. how do you handle that kind of situation??

When my son starts having a tantrum I either ignore him and he will usually stop on his own because we are not watching him or if he is really freaking out we send him to his room until he stops crying. This seems to be doing the trick so far. He hasn't started them in public yet.

I have a baby and he is sometimes on his trantrums, but i just let them screaming and crying, as early i teach him that he can't get everything he want. I know it's hard for us but we can't avoid it . Hope you can handle it well.
