People in India have a very short term memory, especially the cricket fans. Do you remember the Greg Chappell incident and how Ganguly was kept out of the team after the incident? Then he made one of the best bollywood movie style comeback where by he not only cemented his place in the team but also excelled among the youngsters. he was the top run scorer for India in the calender year 2007.
I believe keeping him out would only fire his hunger and passion. He would surely come back strong. He is a fighter and he would not want to go out tamely. i believe there is one big innings left in him yet and after he makes that inning he would retire gracefully and with respect. If the Indian board is not wanting to give him that opportunity I guess he will have to fight it out and get the opportunity by the only way possible, which is to perform and earn his place in the team.
I strongly believe this Australia series would bring back Dravid and Ganguly into form after which both of them should consider retiring. Its not necessary that you have to retire only when you are out of form. Its much better to retire when you are doing well because then you go out with more respect and appreciation. Gilchrist, Vaughan and Steve Waugh are good examples. It would not be a bad idea for even Sachin to think of his retirement or at least retire from one form of the game.

No i think among the big 4 ganguly was the first person to be in the team since he was performing constantly well among the other 3.Rahul was not performing well amd he is out of form after he have given his captaincy so he is the perfect person to be out of the team rather than ganguly.i think the selectors are trying to close the career of ganguly but he will return like a tiger and will throw a punch on selectors

I don't know whether Ganguly is ready to quit or not. But, I feel that it is time to look beyond the so-called big 4. If we have to lose the way we lost to Sri-Lanka in the tests, I would rather lose with a younger team rather than an older one. At least the youngsters would gain from the experience would be able to learn from this and in the future benefit from it.
Cheers!

it is very sad news.but as we know he will come back very strongly as he did in the past and will shut mouths of critics as well as selection committee .There are many people who don't want to see him play in the indian cricket team.i don't want to mention their names as everybody knows who has problems wit seniors and especially with ganguly.lets hope that he will get his place back and make a statement with his performance.
