What kind of cell phone? which carrier?

Hey everyone I though that this would be a good topic. I am really interested in cellular technology. was just wondering what brands of cell phones people use and which carrier you have service through.
I currently have service through alltel with three lines. I use my cell phone for everything internet, texting, phone as we dont have a landline phone and highspeed internet isnt available in this area. I am within a mile of the tower so I get great signal. my only source of internet is to tether my phone to my computer. I have an unlimited plan for only $25 a month and its really decent speeds.
what I am really worried about is verizon is in the process of taking over alltel. I have never liked verizon and I really dont want to be a part of verizon. :(

When I first got my cell phone I had Cell One but the reception was horrible and the customer service line you would wait for an hour to get someone on the line plus they didn't work down in the hills towards my moms house so I switched to Alltel their reception has been fine and works all the way to my moms house.
We only buy motorolla phones that is all my husband will allow.

thanks for the reply. I have always had great reception pretty much everywhere I go with my alltel service. all my friends used to have cellular one(now att after merger) and I hate that noise their phones make in other electronics. Im not sure if you have ever heard that wierd interference in nearby speakers or anything from phones that use GSM instead of CDMA like alltel.
LOL I forgot to mention the phone that I use. I have an alltel motorola e815 board inside the black housing of an ampd mobile e816. I really like the black color compared to the original gray color of the alltel branded version.
