How do you name your pets?

I'm not really good at giving names. I've had around five dogs so far and I hate to admit that I've given them rather cheesy, boring names. For example, I named our current pet, a pomeranian-chihuahua crossbreed, "Tiny", just because she's, well... small. So much for originality and imagination.
So, I was just wondering, where do you people get ideas on what to name your pets? And, what was the most unique name you've given to a pet ever?

i never have a pet but i have worked in pet hospitals, so i have some ideas to share with you.
in our country, China, many people with their pet dogs Xiaohuang, Xiaohei, etc. in chinese language, "Xiao" means small and "huang" or "hei" represent those pet's color. it's a simple way to name their pets and this situation is suitable for many people, especially those old people.
however, many young people may name their pets with English name, such as Jason, Houston, etc, and those names sounds good.

Wow, that's quite interesting. So "Tiny" is quite a famous name, even in other languages.
Thanks for your response. =)
