Do you feel intimidated by your child's teacher?

I posted this under a different category, but thought I would post it here as well.
I am just curious as to mom's (dad's too) experiences with their kid's teachers. Do you feel respected and comfortable talking to them about problems your children might be having in school? Do you feel like you know how to help them with their homework?
Just looking for some input on this topic! Anyone out there????

When it comes to my son I am in total control over him and his well being. I am very comfortable in talking with his teachers. Over the years he had a couple of doozies and one was actually bullying some of the kids. I had him moved to another class at the time. Now that he is older he takes care of problems himself. We only step in if he wants us to. When he needs help with school work he tends to get help from his classmates who like him get really good grades!

Hey thanks to you guys for your quick responses. This is so interesting to me! I'm glad you've had good experiences (sorry about the bullying..that's terrible!).
I have to get offline now and won't be back until this evening or tomorrow, so the rest of you out there, please write your thoughts and I will be sure to read them when I return!
Thanks again!
