Long Distance Realitionships!

I have been involved in an long distance relationship now for about 4 months. He doesn't live to far away, only about 4 hrs. After the first of the year, he is planning to love down here. Just wondering if anyone else is in the same shoes I am and how is it going for you, etc..

My sister and her then boyfriend, now husband, were in a distant relationship for four years, or was it five?... My brother-in-law visits once in a while and most of their time spent is on the phone. Long distant relationships are very hard but if both of you work hard on it, it will work

I have been in a long distance relationshp for the last 2.5 years. For us he is away 6 - 8 months of the year. It is trying at times but we do love eachother tons. He goes away to work as he loves being a pipeliner. I would never take that away from him. He is constantly moving all over the place. The relationship is working for us right now. But mind you we don't have any children. Don't know what would happen with that but we will deal with that when the time comes. Next year since I don't work and I will probably have less appointments that I will have to go to I will be spending the spring, summer and fall out there with him. So it will be easier for us as well. When he does come home the relationship just grows deeper and we fall more in love with eachother. If that is possible. LOL.

that is cool.. yeah.. since we are both working, we don't get to talk as much.. but just like I told him I believe that will only strengthen our relationship and make us love each other that much more. As of yet, we haven't seen each other. but we are working on that, hopefully in the next month or so.. I can't way. He is just such a great guys, so sweet, caring!

You have never met him? How does that really work that you are in a committed relationship and have never seen eachother?

I have not tried that. i have been with my husband for 16 years though. I would have dated him if he lived far awy too though. I was lucky enough that he lived close to me. I hope yours works out well for you.

My boyfriend and I lived on opposite sides of the world (over 6000 miles away) for part of the time while we were going out...it was really hard, but we kept in touch thru calling, texting(you should have seen our phone bills!) and emailing.
It was worth it though, he came to visit and proposed, we've now been married for over a year and a half:)
Hang in there, it's tough but don't give up!
