Yes! I did buy stocks. It was when my bank went public. I had $5,000.00 in the bank so, I pulled it out and bought $5000 wort of stocks. Couple months later I sold them for $8000. if I sold right at the 1st day I could of double my money. But, can't be greedy. I still have a some stock with my utily company and I like them

Even if I do want to invest some money in shares of stocks, I just possibly can't due to financial issues. In fact, I'm in search for shares which are for initial public offering (IPO) but money or lack of capital hinders me from engaging in this business. My mother used to invest in this business and if I'm not mistaken, she's able to gain some profit from this. I'm not certain, however, if she still has investments in this stocks business. Some of my current officemates have invested a portion of their earnings in shares of stocks of popular companies and just recently, one of them was able to retrieve her investment with corresponding profit from a particular company after almost ten years. This is quite a blessing and a disadvantage of investing in stocks, at the same time. I guess that if one plans to invest money on this type of business, he should be ready to place the cash or earnings he is sure he won't be needing for quite some time; and he should be ready for some setbacks, too. I personally think that to avoid losses here, one should know how to play his cards right. It's adviseable to place your money in stocks but keep it only for a short period of time. For instance, if you bought a hundred shares for one or two dollars per share; be ready to sell it if the market dictates it to be merely 2.50 dollars per share. This way, you could invest your money again in another business.

I have invested INR 25000 in a public sector power company of India which is also a biggest power company of india.I purchase shares when the company touches it 6 month low. Then I wait for a month. After 20 days of purchasing it touches all times high. Each stock gives me profit of Inr 40 which is is equal to one dollar I sell them.I made INR 6000 in profit. This is my highest profit in short duration. Once I purchase a cemet stock at Rs 27 Then it comes down to 16 with in a month. After that it again touches 42 in next month I sell it.Percentage wise this was my highest profit.
