Medical "cures" that end up hurting something else.

Have you or someone you know had problems from any medical treatment? I had to have Chemo when I was a child and it damaged my heart. I was always sick afterwards and then I ended up needing a transplant. Nobody ever told us that heart damage was a possible after-effect of the Chemo.

I think there are a great many things used in the medical world for one thing that ends up really injuring someone, physcially or mentally, on down the road. I guess you have to chose the lesser of two evils and make sure you trust your doctor. I think some doctors out there are quacks and throw pills or provide operations for people for every little thing.

I have had problems with them putting me on vicodin and somas for my back pain. I have become addicted to them and currently trying to get weaned off of them. People say if you stop cold turkey you could die. Doctors don't care just as long as they make there money. God Bless

I agree that they don't care. They also don't listen to you at all. I think that as long as they can document that they've seen you, they'll get paid. I have also heard that there are a lot of meds(pain meds,anti-depressants,etc.) that you could die from if stopped cold turkey. It makes you wonder why they're allowed to still prescribe things like that. Were you able to finally get some real help for your back pain? I hope that things get better for you.
