Alright, so here is my explanation. There was a species (X), and after a million years or so a variation was developed in a newborn member of species X. That variation was a trait that the chicken had and gave that member of species X a better chance of survival than the others in species X. Since that member was more likely to survive, it produced more offspring (that were more likely o survive) and eventually turned into a new species all together (Y). After another million years or so, a newborn of species Y got a variation that made it more like the chicken, but it still was not the chicken. That variation again made it (and all of its offspring) more likely to survive. As all of species y died out, the members of species Y with the variation still survived because that variation gave them a better chance of survival. So eventually that turned into species Z. THIS PROCESSED HAPPENED OVER AND OVER AGAIN until there was a species, lets say C, that had every trait of the chicken except ONE. When they developed that trait, they'd be the chicken as we know it. Ok so then once upon a time, a newborn was born with a variation that made it a chicken (lets say species D). So the first member of species D (the chicken) was produced from Species C. Species C laid the first chicken egg (Not a chicken). Then that first chicken some more eggs. DONNEEEEEE THATS IT NO MORE SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATION.
