and in the same room? I ask this, because in this day and age, everyone has schedules. There are a lot of families that do not sit down together at dinner time and discuss everyone's day.
When I was growing up, we always ate together in the same room. If my father was to be late coming home my mother would hold dinner, if it got to be too late she would then feed the children.
Today, if families eat at the same time, they may often eat in different rooms. Children take their food to their rooms, Mom and Dad, have their dinner in front of the TV, in the family roometc.
My question is do your whole family eat dinner together and in the same room at the same time?

hi sudalunts. in my house it' just three of us. my dad, mom and me. my dad usually comes home from office by 8 or 9. my mom is house wife. so we all sit together and have our dinner. my dad use to tell how his day was in the office. we also watch television at the same time. we talk a lot when having dinner. when it's the time of holidays all our family members gather in grandparents house a have eat together. it used to be nice days. but now everyone's busy and i miss those days with my cousins a lot. happy mylotting. have a nice day!

Wonderful that you all wait for your father to come home. I must say that 8 or 9 is rather late, but your family still gives your father the respect to wait for him. Even if you are watching TV, at least everyone is together.
thanks for responding, and happy mylotting

Well it seems like the new generation is different from now on. But in my home we still practice eating together. Who ever finish eating just stay for a while to talk with family. And when someone still eating we leave the plate to the table and let other finish eating before we wash the plate and clean the table. Thats how our family do.

Good to hear that your family still have meals together. It is really an important time of the day. Everyone gets to sit with each other and discuss the days events. Good for you and your family, I like that
