Practical Jokes are NEITHER!

I HATE practical jokes. As far as I'm concerned they're too often used to humiliate and embarrass their victims. The ex-roommate used to pull NASTY jokes on people. (one of the reasons among MANY that she is the EX-roommate) One night a friend was over doing laundry and the evil one decided it would be fun to hide our friend's car keys. When J got ready to leave, she reached for her keys which she had put on ER's desk. They weren't there. J, E and I looked all olver the place - no keys. J was in tears because she had to get home to give her cat an insulin shot and it was getting late. E had a key to J's apartment so she took her home. Within minutes of E & J leaving, ER decides to waddle off to bed, leaving all the lights on. I go in to turn off the lights and THERE on the bookcase are the keys! I can see ME (being legally blind) possibly missing them, but TWO fully sighted people? ER had palmed the keys and thought it was FUNNY. She didn't care that J's cat might have died, or that J was upset as long as SHE got a laugh. That wasn't the first or last time and it certainly wasn't the worst. One day ER got the brilliant idea to DRAW on her arm and claim that my cat had scratched her and told me I had to either find a new home for him or she would have him put down. Never mind that we'd declawed my cat because he'd gone into what we called "berserker mode" and went off on me and we were concerned he'd hurt HER! So, I (not knowing the "scratches" were DRAWN on) said "Fine, we'll pull his back nails" That apparently wasn't good enough she said that I either needed to get rid of him or kill him or she'd sue me! I said some appropriate words explaining exactly what I thought of her and her demands and walked out. I have NEVER been that upset before. Would you believe that woman STILL thought it was funny? When she finally realized I was upset, was she conserned that she'd upset me? NO! She was upset because I was mad at her! How DARE I not take a joke! I've hated that horrible slug ever since and NOTHING will ever convince me she was "joking!"
