A few months back, my Hubby dropped my cell phone in a cup of coffee!!! So that made me have to get a new phone. But I had that phone for 4 years. It worked just fine. Of course it had some bumps and bruises, but it worked really well. I would imagaine had he not dropped the phone in the coffee i would be still using the same phone for another four years.

that is just what i mean. the phone i had was great. i could text and call someone. i mean that is all i really need. of course the new one i have has more features, which is great. but i still only use the text and call people. i don't use any of the other things it has to offer

I'm totally like you. I HATE, absolutely HATE getting new phones. I mean some people get new phones all the time just to update it and such, but I really hate how you have to figure out the buttons, find where everything goes, you have to get used to it, etc.
I try to keep my phone as long as possible even if it's old and it sucks. I remember I got a crappy plastic one (very very old) after I broke one of my favorites and I complained about that phone for a while, but I got used to it and realy didn't want to change it.. until I broke that one also..
Other than that.. I keep phones for a long time.. if I don't break it.. usually for years =)

oh my my my.. I think I change cellphones at least once a year, not really because of anything else but the fact that I'm a techie and I really like to keep in tune with the latest trends or at least close to it specially if I don't have much to shell out, good thing about it is that there are many second hand shops in our area and I get a good phone for a little bit less than I would shell out if I bought a new one

i used to get hand-me-down phones from my parents. but by the time i got my new model, which i bought from my savings, my husband through it out of the window because he was so drunk. now, i have a new and good model and taking care of it as well. i want to stick to just one phone. i don't want to splurge much money in buying new models and replacing what i have right now.

It seems when I get a new service or need to re-do the plan. I really milked my last phone out to the 2 year mark because the battery was going, but I didn't want to pay for a new one. Which I still had to pay partly for since the one I wanted was more than the allowed amount.
Don't feel too bad, my husband has had his cell phone washed twice now.

i'm using my current phone for around one and a half years. i'd love to get a new phone but i just dont have the budget for it. i'd rather spend my money on something else so a new phone has to wait, unless my phone is not usable anymore or something.

Well, I do not really by a cell phone every day. I have seen the young once do. They seems to change it every month or so. I only need a cell phone for emergancy nothing els, if any one need to get a hold of me other wise they can try again on my regular phone...Cell phone bills tend to be so expensive...so I text mess my son once a day, or call to make shore he is alright. I have it on, but since I can see who is calling me, I can decide if I want to talk at the moment,....if not they have to cal again.

I've only changed phones thrice.
1st was when my phone gave in because I've had it for 3 long years.
2nd time was when my phone got stolen, so I'm left with no choice but to get a new one.
3rd time was recently, I couldn't resist my brother's offer. My old phone was a Nokia 6680 unit, his was a Motorola A1200 Ming, a touch screen smart phone. Who could resist? we swapped. :)

I won't normally changed my hp often, if my plans over here is up i would change it. If not won't waste the money to change a better one.

I change my phone when I see a new phone with much more better features come out. So that's about every year or more. The only time I changed my phone in less than a year was when my phone started malfunctioning and I couldn't get it repaired anywhere. I was using an N93 at the time. I really liked the phone... Too bad it got wrecked.

Well i seeme to buy a new cell phone/Moblie phone every 3 or so years. if i can buy a new phone every 3 years or so i can keep up with the growing speed of technology. the latest phone i bought was an I phone and i recomend 1 to anyone that has the money to buy one. my sister gets a new phone every year so that she doesnt look uncool having an old phone because apparently having no phone is cooler than having an old phone

I too do not like to chance new phone unless I have to.
I am comfortable with the one I have. A Sony K750i.
The phones today are not as durable as the ones made before. And also not as practical as well. Unless this one spoils, it is going to be with me for a long time.
Though I have used a few other phones in between cos my job allows me to. I still find my K750 a trusty phone that I would always go back to.
I guess, even if I were to get a new phone now, I will still keep the Sony as a spare.
So to answer your question, I only get new phone when the old one is damaged. Which is heck of a long time, cos I take good care of my phones so that they will last me for a long time to come.

Hi momma, I've had the same cell phone now for 3 years. I
don't use it unless it's for emergencies. I have a prepaid
nextel boost phone. I used to use it for the bleep in the
beginning when my X-boyfriend lived in Texas. It was $1 a
day and we could talk as much a we wanted. No I no longer
use the bleep I only use the phone once in awhile when I'm
out and I need to get in touch with someone to meet them
or if someone really need to reach me. The phone I have
is just a plain cellphone. It has no special features,
no cameras, no flip no nothing! It's fine for me until
I need to get a new one. I mostly use my landline phone
at home to make my calls.
