I dont know anyone who got rich because they had the internet. I think some people can make a healthy living, but that is by trial and error. They work at it, until they find something that works for them. It takes awhile to be able to do. You might be able to make some money to survive on, but you probably arent going to get rich.

There are two issues here - working from home and getting rich. The two are rarely combined. The reason is that most people choose to work from home, not for money, but for a better work life balance. You can avoid commuting in rush hour and spend more time with yoru family, which to me is far more important than money. If you want to get rich, you have a number of obvious ways - marry it, steal it, win it, inherit it or earn it. The first three are cheats, the fourth won't work for most people. Earning it is extremely rare. You have to have a great idea and market it carefully and then list on the stock market to vconvert your investment into cash. So what are you interested in doing from home? Why not ask your employer if you can work part-time from home? Unfortunately mpsot employers care more about the time of arrival and departure thanw hat you do inbetween! Find one that lets youw ork from home and life will FEEL better. I know. I ran my own business from home for 25 years. Gets lonely though so now I retrained and I am in a people business and meet lots of people and I am more socially interacting.
