is the wife of cain his own sister or a woman of other people in their time?

This is what I believe:
I believe Cain married his sister. Adam and Eve were made perfect and therefore their genes were perfect also. When they were cursed things started going down hill from there. In the beginning, the genes were not tainted enough to create problems.
Then God made incest a sin because he knew the outcome if a child was formed from such close genes.
My opinion. I would love to hear others.

The Bible says that he 'knew' his wife and conceived his first child after being cursed for killing his brother. He left and went east of Eden to the land of Nod.
I think he married someone from there who was another people of their time. I think that God created more firsts like Adam and Eve to populate the earth and to keep inbreeding from happening.
I know the only ones we know of are Adam and Eve, but I can't help thinking that God had to have made more for this reason.

I have wondered about this too.According to the Bible they were it. There was not supposed to be anyone other than the offspring of Atom and Eve on this earth. If you remember this also happened a second time. When Noah and his family stepped off the Ark they were supposed to be the only people on earth. Also all the pairs of animals on the Ark were supposed to be the only animals left on the earth.
I ran into something in the Bible that goes along this line but it brings up some interesting questions. Read Genesis chapter 6 verses 1 and 2. It says when man began to multiply on the earth the Sons of God saw that the Daughters of men were fair and took them as their wives. This indicates that the Sons of God were not part of the population of the earth. The question is who were the Sons of God and where did they come from?

Genesis 7:6-7, Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters came on the earth. And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives entered the ark to escape the waters of the flood.
Noah's sons brought their wives aboard. There wa sno brother and sister incest but there had to be marriage among cousins.

sorry friend if i made you think hard with regard to this matter..what we know only is what the bible is saying concerning our first predecessor adam and eve and how it happen that there exist other people in their time is vague from our understanding..so maybe just like what you have said,God made another man which are not mention in the bible and then third and fourth man and so on...till they multiply up to point that they intermarry..mmmmmm you got a point, after all what the bible mention only is adam the fist man
