My Two Cents

I was about to go to log out when I saw my earnings change from $8 to $8.02 and it's not even midnight yet. I have read other posts here where myLotters find their earnings lose a few cents but have never read one that talks about gaining a few cents before myLot calculates the day's earnings. I can't really explain how that happened but it's just a funny thing to witness.
I'm just being dorky here and I can't help but notice that I gained two cents too. So because I love puns and may be one of those people who need to go to pun rehab, I think it's amusing that I literally got two cents for my two cents. Get it? Ahahaha... No? Oh well.

I have my earnings decreased by one cent a while ago. So maybe that is because of a deleted discussion.
Then people would ask, where does that deducted earnings go? The answer is (and you can find this in the FAQs) the deducted earnigs are redistributed to other mylot members depending on their quality ranking.
That is why people also experience increase in earnings.

Thanks for the information richiem. I'm sorry about the cent decrease... I know it's just a cent but a decrease is a decrease. I've had that happened to me too but I just see it the next day. This time, I saw it change just like the time. You have a nice day too.

We must have been in the same discussion. Mine went up 1 cent. This has happened to me twice. More than likely it was an adjustment for additional comment to a discussion you participated in. Who knows. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Oh, btw, you are more than welcome to put your 2 cents worth into any of my discussions!!!

Hi friend, i am happy that your earnings are around $8... last year, it took me months to reach that... hehehe... well, i notice that my earnings update 2 times more than one occasion in a week.. so i guess, it is just common and no biggie... hehehe.... in my time zone, it updates usually half past 9 in the evening... and this is my 2 cents... LOL

My friend I think I posted a discussion a while back about my mysterious gain of a couple cents here and there during odd hours long before mylot updates,and I have also experienced a couple times where I have lost a couple cent,and it is kind of funny that you got two cents for your two cents and that is a very good pun and you definitely should not go to pun rehab lol,and I hope you continue to have the increases in your earnings.

getting 2 cents is better than losing 2 cents! I have
never caught mylot in the act of changing the amount, but
I looked at the amount one minute and then seen it be
different shortly after. I think that's kind of cool that
you caught them! They actually explained to me how they
calculate the amounts and how sometimes they do add them
up and give you more money once in awhile after they
re-calculate responses or something. I don't care, it's
when they take the money away and don't explain that I
get upset! So thanks for the update on your update!

It's easier to turn the other way when we gain stuff without fully knowing why... but if they take something away from us, then we definitely need an explanation. Lol. Thanks Opal26.

I have had two occasions in the last couple of weeks where my earnings have gone up by a few cents also. All I can think is that they must be readjusting the internal algorithm or something? A bonus is a bonus so bring it on! lol.

it happens all the time...it happens to me and i am not surprise...the earnings fluctuates...when earnings go down that would be because some of the post you had answered had been deleted and your earnings will be deducted from what you earn from that discussion...and when earnings go up that means they mis-calculate one of the days on one of your posts or two...so, this just show the fairness of mylot to us...we lose some and we get some from what we deserve..i am happy to hear your earnings went up

Your two cents is great. It is good for the eye sight to see a little positivity about the earnings even if it isn't but 2 cents.
I have had this happen to me to but I just thought it was an error on behalf of the staff calculating the total wrong. In any case it is a good thing to see and maybe we will see a little more of this. Just my two cents. Enjoy your day MyLotting that's what I am planning on doing.

It's always better to gain 2 cents than to lose it. I'm still not too sure how this whole pay thing works, but I love this site and love posting here.

Thanks Alexandria. I read the myLot guidelines and FAQs to figure out how the pay thing works but I still can't figure it out. I learn a lot from the more seasoned myLotters here. Now that we've mentioned two cents a number of times, now I'm wondering where that phrase started, you know, "my two cents" just like "cut the mustard" and "are you out of your rocker?"

hi there! well, yeah it always happened to me ., sometimes i got cents higher and sometimes i lose cents., i guess that depends on your postings like if it was being deleted or whatsoever ., and i gain some cents when i rate the discussions on mylot., anyway , have a wonderful day to you! best of luck! your close to payout!

Oh congratulations...well my earnings are still stable... didn't increase nor decrease... they might be updating earnings now or something they're doing on the server side which i don't really have a clue... oh well.. happy posting
