Do you lie about your age and is it ok?

So you’re 41 but know you’ll probably get a lot more interest if you post or tell your age as 38. Or maybe you are a 52-year-old who shops at Urban Outfitters and listens to the same music as your college-age kid; would it really be so wrong to post your age as “40-something?” How do dates react to the confession? How do you handle it when dates turn up looking older than they say they are —should you say something?

Well I really don't think ages should matter at all. I usually give my real age but sometimes I keep forgetting my real age by a year. I really do not feel awkward giving out my real age if asked. If ever I do give the wrong age is because I got confused already. Sometimes I have to count it before I could really get it right.

Yeah same thing happens to me like I have to compute my age all over again.

The only time in my life I have ever really lied about my age was when I was a teenager and I wanted to go somewhere I shouldn't have like a bar or something. If I am not specific about my age of 36 then the furthest away I will come from this number if someone I didn't know asked is to say I am "mid 30's".

our culture grooms us to be age sensitive, therefore, we get rather sensitive when comes to age talks nowadays. you can't go against the fact that people tend to go along with the stereotype nowadays which make certain people more afraid of revealing their real age (if most ppl can't accept it). if u choose to follow the social mindset of people, then u will have no choice but the fake ur age, but u can't agree to turn up in front of that person. if u really wanna turn up in front of the person, then do get ready for many rejections till u find someone who accepts u. either way, there is a gain and a loss. and if u notice, a gain of one is a loss of the other one, and vice versa.

I dont lie about my age just for the fact there really isnt a point in it. And I dont think its okay to lie about your age because if you meet someone and you tell them a age that isnt correct and when they find out your real age its jsut going to make them think what else have you lied about so i dont see a point in lieing about your age.

No, I don't lie about my age, and can't see the point! I'm 50 (soon to be 51), and I'll happily put that on my profile. I'm married anyway, so not in the market for a man - but if I was going on a dating site, I'd still be honest. If that meant nobody was interested, so be it. Age is just a number, and we all get there sooner or later!
