Aurora borealis or the northern lights colors the skies of the north. It is seldomly seen, but the moment that you saw it will really be worth it. The dancing light comes in different colors, and it lasts in different time span. I live in a country near the equator, so we've never visualized aurora borealis and surealis...but I do wish that I could see one someday. How about you? Have you seen one? How does it look like? What did you feel when you saw it?

Yes I have seen them many many times. I do not live far north so most of the ones I have seen have been a pale greenish color. Once it was really really fantastic. I was at a farm in the western part of Norway - by the fjord. The northern lights illuminated the entire sky and it was like standing in a dome. Really beautiful. It felt sort of like being in church. The times where one gets all filled with emotions. One just feels happy.

It lasted a very long time. It was in the middle of the night, and my man and I went out and watched it for quite some time before going back to bed. I am not sure how long it lasted though.
Some times it does not last long - it just fly across the sky a few times then goes away. I have not seen as many during the last few years as I did as a child. I really hope I will get to see a really good one again soon. It is wonderful. I hope you get to see one too - a great one!

I spent four days in Norway a few years ago and we went on a trip to see the aurora borealis. We went up a little baby mountain (covered in snow)and waited about three or fours hours.
Just when we'd given up any hopes of seeing it all this green light started dancing across the sky. IT wasn't the spiritual experience I'd imagined but it was magnificent to watch, very pretty.
