when you are trying to help some one but all they do is nothing, but yet they want you to be there for them, but if you tell them,in order for me to help you,you got to help yourself, but yet they don't care.i hate that with a passion.how does everyone else feel about this.

I totally understand how you feel. I have had that happen too...they come to you for help....then expect miracles without doing a thing for themselves....I feel the same.....we are each responsible for what happens in our lives...you can't fix someone's problems without them trying themselves....I hate it too!

That is just part of being a true friend. You can advise all you want, but you cannot control their actions or decisions. It is up to them to decide what is best for them. And sometimes, sure, you think you know better, and you likely do, because you are on the outside looking in. But we are all human, and make mistakes. That is a fact of life. And we have 'free will' to do as we choose. Right or wrong, our choice.
If you are a true lifelong friend of this person, you will just roll with the punches and abide by whatever decision they make and help them deal with the fallout as best you can. You love them unconditionally.
Years later, you will laugh together at all you have experienced together and gone through, and made STUPID MISTAKES.
