Research shows that 8 hours of sleep everyday is good because it helps us to get intact. But what if you don't? and what if you cannot sleep the entire night?
As we grow older, they say that lots of adults are having a hard time to complete that 8 hour routine. how about worries and unusual schedules? does it have a huge impact in our sleeping habits?
What would be the best thing to do in order to prevent sleeping disorders? Is it really hereditary?
What are the things that can induce sleep?

There is just too many things that I want to complete in a day that I would sleep at most 4 hours every single day! I seldom have the chance to finish the 8 hour sleep cycle even though I have heard before that it is good for one's health to do that.
What more contributed to that fact is that most of us are holding on to more than one jobs and thus we are already working for up to 20 hours in a day. Factor in travelling time and you have one adult sleeping just 2 hours every day! That is the reality in the fast paced society of ours. If we want our sleep and choose that over money, then we have to beg and borrow from others in the middle of the month just to make ends meet. And many of us has more dignity than that!
Worries and unusual schedules will keep us up and prevent us from sleeping. This is because when our body desperately needs rest, our minds are still going at train speed, refusing to let our body rest. It does have a huge impact on our sleeping habits in that sense. Sleep only comes naturally when we are in a relaxed mood of mind, and gradually sleep will overcome the body. But when the mind is still working, your body will not know that it is time to rest, even when you are obviously tired.
Schedules in your work can also mess up your body clock, especially if you don't work regular hours! If you sleep in the morning one day, and then the night the next, your body gets very confused and your body clock gets super messed up. When this becomes a habit, there comes the case of insomia whereby the body does not recognise that it is night time and it's time to sleep as it still thinks that it's morning time.
This is also very true of those who have to travel by plane to another country of a different timezone. You will realise that this people suffer from severe jet lag as soon as they land in the foreign land of a different timezone. The body recognise that its perhapes night time (according to their own country), but their brain is telling otherwise (if it's morning time in the foreign land). And then that is when jet lag sets in and the person becomes super tired.
Some insomia cases are herditary genes. When a family member has it, chances are the offspring of the pair of parents will also suffer from insomia some point in their lives.
Sleeping pills are always recommended by doctors for those with insomia. What these pills does was to induce sleepiness in the person who is affected. But then over long term, they are rendered useless as the body becomes immune to the effects of the pills, and that is when the body needs a higher dosage as the time passes, to the point of time whereby sleeping pills will just be useless!
Of course, if you are not sleepy, don't force yourself to sleep. If you are sleepy and cannot fall asleep, similarly do not force yourself to sleep. Because forcing yourself to sleep will just result in an averse result and you will end up being even more awake than anything else!
Instead, try to relax your mind and be in a very relaxed mood. Only when you are relaxed, sleep will come to you naturally. If all things fail and you still can't relax your mind, try some camomile tea. This tea will soothe your sense and calm your nerves. Pretty soon, when you are calm, sleep will come. Try it out and let me know if it works for you!
Well take care and happy Mylotting!

Wow! thanks a lot! Don't worry I'll try that suggestion. I have been having difficulty in falling asleep lately especially when our work schedule changed. I have been having this dilemma for 2 years since I started working in a BPO industry as a Technical Support Specialist.
Anyway, thank you so much and more blessings to you :)

Every day, i will be sleeping for at least 10 hrs without fail.. lol =D I do have the luxury to sleep this long, but at the same time it's bad for the body.. Because my body has been over rested and it will take some time to really warm up and be energised for the whole day..
In fact, sleep between 6-8 will be more tha enough, but not anything more and anything less.. If we sleep less than 6 hrs, our body will not have enough time to rest and recover in time after a day's work.. ANd so fo ple, who's body system are weak, they will fall sick easily and that will be the time for them to really rest ^_^
Yeah, as we grow older, we actually need lesser sleeping hrs, and thus u can see your parents or those elderly ple, waking up at 4-5am, when they just slept at maybe 11pm or so ^_^ It's natural, and it's hard to explain why.. hehe
Worries is definitely a factor affecting our sleep, because if our mind cant have peace, how are able to fall asleep easily without thinking of all our problems and troubles?? We have only heard about ple sleeping well when they are relaxed, but never heard about them sleeping well with their mind full of worries..
If u want a good sleeping habit, try to maintain the same amount of sleeping hrs everyday, sleeping and waking up, the same time too ^_^ Let your body be accustomed to the timing ^_^ ANd also, no more working and reading 1-2 hrs b4 bedtime,so that your mind can really relax and u will be able to sleep better too ^_^
Worse comes to worse, exercise.. lol =D That works for me.. hehe

What if the only time that a person can sleep is in the morning? how about a person who works at night? It is so hard to sleep in the morning bec. you can hear the noise outside.
