My baby is already 7 months old and I've been trying to give him solids for weeks already- but he refuses to open his mouth after the first few bites! Any suggestions?

I started to give my baby a solid food when he was 4 mos. just little bit baby cereal mixed with his milk until he gets 6 months. From 7 months old, we started ti give him a hienz baby's food, lancashire hotpot, and he have also desserts like rapsberry and strawbeery yogurt, apple crumble. And on his snacks he is having a rusk or ginger bread. Happy myloting!

Well baby stomaches are smaller than what ya think but I need to prob and ask a few questions do you give you baby a bottle while trying to feed baby? if so , don't .. also to get baby to fed on thicker foods with consistancy you might want to add rice cereal to the bottle and get a nipple that is designed for this .. the thicker formula texture will help baby get use to the change in texture. Also you might if push comes to shove want to put a little bit of food on the baby bottle nipple or sippy cup top to have baby taste it.. If you have tried everything and nothing has work consult your physician. My daughter handled baby food just fine but when anything had texture to it she refused to eat it. Here she had an overly sensitive mouth and I needed to get her some Physical Therapy to help her. Good luck and let us know how it ends up.

I think the babies respond to the "texture" of solids more than the taste. Both of my boys spit out anything that was "gritty" feeling. Keep trying different foods. eventually he will eat them.
