Oooops, i did it again: marking best response

Before others have the chance to post more relevant replies to discussions i have started, i chose one best response. I told myself, after starting one discussion under parenting, to wait a while for there might be better and more usueful answers to my questions, before i mark my best response. Once i marked a best response and later received a much better, longer, detailed and really relevant reply and it was too late to mark it as best response. ANd now i just did the same mistake again, and i did not even wait for a day to let others give better ideas. Have you done this? Or you don't care to read replies, much less mark best responses?

Hi there pinkytabor!
There were instances that I have marked a response as the best and later on received other responses that were actually better. Well, there's nothing much I can do about that. Besides, the new and better responses came in when I already awarded the best response. It takes a little while before I choose the best response after posting a new discussion. This would somehow give me enough time to earn more responses for the discussion.

Yes, there's nothing we can do to change the already marked best response. It really makes me feel sorry for the one who gave me the best but already late response. I really should and will give more time for my discussions to grow some more so i could really choose the best response well.

Yes, I actually like to wait for a couple of days to mark best response especially if I am getting a lot of responses. Sometimes I even wait for a couple of weeks to make sure that I have read all of them and that there are not anymore coming through.

I think a day would not be enough to wait. I might practice what you are doing now - by waiting for two days, or even two weeks if my discussion needs a good solution.

I always read responses and say thank you if it was as question that was answered and mark a best response if relevant but only after my discussion has been up for at least 24 hours. Dear poster, i think you maybe a little to impatient to award best response, its best to wait at least a day before doing so

I do admit to that weakness and have to remind myself everyday to wait for at least another day. Thanks!
