What words for cats do you use? Cat, Kitty, Kitty cat, Pu$$y cat or...?

I have a web site of cat information and cat products. www.boomspress.com/KittyLovers.html Having a web site means picking the right key words, just like we do here on myLot. Because it's at related, I put in every possible way of referring to cats including "pu$$y cat". Old ladies frequently use that term. One of the search engines rejected the site due to "language that may be inappropriate". I'm sure that one word put it in the naughty category. Even here, I'm afraid of censorship or being put in the adult category when there is nothing adult about pets. Well the adult in the household is ultimately the one responsible to make sure the animals needs are taken care of, but you folks know what I mean. What's with this world? I can't use a valid term from the dictionary for cat? I've also been censored on Yahoo dog discussions from referring to an intact female dog as a bltch. It is the proper term, but the censors think it's inappropriate. Another bad word. On a dog site. The computer generated sensors really need to be reconfigured to censer words on a site specific basis. What will be next? We can't use the word stud anymore on jewelry, horse breeding or building sites just because the word could mean something else to dirty minds.

I do know what you mean. I do mostly call my cats by their names or just "cat." I do have baby names for most of the cats that are part of their names. So, for example, I call Oliver - Ol-li-var, and Timus (ti-mus) - Timie, Ping - Ping-a-ling and Pong - Pong-a-long. Some don't have "pet" names, but that's just because a name like "Chalube" isn't easy to be made a diminutive."

Some names are harder than others. One of my cats is named Ethel. I actually go the other way with her and call her Ethel May Potter Mertz, the character she was named after. Her litter mate Fred was adopted out to a really nice young man in Tel Aviv. Can you guess what my favorite tv show of all time is? It's pretty obvious to American over 40.

I hated "I Love Lucy." Hated it then, hate it now, not into sitcoms at the best of times. I told the people that I got Oliver from what I was naming him and they wanted to know where I got the name from - not a fan of the classics I guess.... Timus is named after someone in The Tomorrow People TV show. Rygel after the alien in Farscape. Rygel gets babynamed to "whygel."

My cat is called "Pünktchen" and I actually call her pu??y all the time, sometimes I shorten it, then it's Pus Pus and I don't think that there's anything wrong with it. My brother never liked it but that's his problem. I often call my cats by other animal names as well. Sometimes it's "Häschen" other times it is "Mäuschen"

How cute. My German is very limited, but I do know a few words. I have a friend who calls cats rodents. On the pu**y word, maybe it's a guy thing. You know how they are with their minds in the gutter.
