As has already been mentioned, you should get anti-virus on your system if you don't have it already. This is the first step. Do the scan and see what you come up with. Then, try task manager again and see if you notice any difference. The worst case scenario, if you cannot do anything at all is to reformat your hard disk and start afresh. This is not to be done on a regular basis, perhaps once every two years depending on how your system is. Good luck. Andrew

why download taskman.exe? it is part of your operating system. when you press ctrl+alt+del and it doesn't come up just wait your system might be real slow and take it awhile for it to come up. also boot your system into safe mode and see if the taskman comes up.
