The year is almost coming to an end.
If you're a sportsfan,It's this
time of the year wherein
you remember all the emotional
things that happened in sports.
You reminisced the time when you
have to skip work just to watch the
NBA finals. Wake up early for the
Super Bowl Pre-game show...blah blah.
As an avid fan of sports, I have come with
a list of this year's interesting sports icon.
Sport illustrated yearly have it's Sportman's
Man of the Year, well maybe I can also
have mine.
In coming up with the list,
there are lot of things to be considered,
but execution and outstanding sportmanship
weights above all.
So let's discuss about the
athletes who showed considerable degree ,power
intensity in sports.
1. Roger Federer
Sport: Tennis
What he did this year:
Let the men's tennis world
know that nobody can beat him
(of course, except Rafael
Nadal). It's the time in the
tennis era where another
dominant player have emerged.
Prompting others to catch up.
Stay competitive or this
Swiss born star will take
away the thrill of the game.
He definitely deserved an award
aside from the platter, the cup
he earned this year.
He's a good candidate for
the Sportsman of the Year.
But does everybody watches
tennis? I don't think so.
So good luck Rog.
Achievements: Wimbledon Champ,U.S. Open Champ,etc.
2. Tiger Woods
Sport: Golf
What he this year:
Bring back his form and
once again bullied everybody
in golf with stunning wins
and spectacular swing.
I may not be a big fan
of golf, but you cant
help but notice what
Tiger has been doing. He was
all over the sports headlines this
year for his terrifc winning
streak. Another Sportsman of
the Year award gives him another
winning streak.
Achievements: WGC-American Express Champ, etc
2. Dwayne Wade
Sports: Basketball
What he did this year:
Simple. He spearheaded's
Miami's quest for their first
NBA ring. There's not much
to discuss here. He was simply
unstoppable in the finals.
He showed maturity in
carrying a team to glory.
He never give up. Yet he was humble enough
not to the fame get in his head
Achievements: NBA Champions-Miami Heat
3. Tony LaRussa
Sport: Baseball
What he did this year:
Everybody knows the story.
Tony managed,coached,guided,
inspired (I just can't imagine how
he did it) the St. Louis Cardinals to its
first ever World series Championships.
They were the worst team
in the playoffs. They had the
worst record to be exact.
They barely made it to
the playoff. But with Tony, they
went full throttle in the playoffs
and made one of the biggest
upsets in baseball history.
This manager deserved something.
I guess everyone would agree
with that.
Achievements: World Series Champions-St. Louis Cardinals
There is still a lot of athletes
still making waves in the court till
the year ends so, lets hope for more.
But for now we have to
settle for this four distinguished
gentlemen.
Until Then.

In 2002, the 15-year-old Nadal won his first ATP match, defeating Ramon Delgado in Majorca to become the ninth player in the open era to win an ATP match before his 16th birthday.
In 2003, Nadal became the second-youngest player to be ranked among the world's top 100 singles players. He finished the year in the top 50, winning two Challenger titles. At his Wimbledon debut, Nadal, then 17, became the youngest male player to reach the third round since 16-year-old Becker in 1984.
2005 was Nadal's breakthrough year. At the Australian Open, he reached the fourth round and pushed the eventual runner-up, Lleyton Hewitt, to five sets. Two months later, he reached the final of the Miami Masters tournament — indeed, was three points away from victory in straight sets — but was defeated in five sets by the world's #1 player, Roger Federer. Shifting to the clay court season, Nadal won two ATP Masters Series events in Monte Carlo and Rome. At one point in the year, Nadal won 24 consecutive matches, the longest winning streak of any teenager in the open era, topping Andre Agassi's run of 23 matches in 1988. By May 2005, Nadal had reached the top 5 in the world rankings, becoming the youngest player to break into the top 10 since Andrei Medvedev in 1993.
2006
The fierce rivalry between Nadal and Federer has continued long into 2006. In March 2006, Nadal handed Federer his first loss of the year at the final in Dubai, winning 2-6, 6-4, 6-4. Nadal defeated Federer again at the Monte Carlo Masters by a score of 6-2, 6-7, 6-3, 7-6.
