Can salad be bad for you?

I started doing this soup and salad diet where I eat a salad for lunch and soup for dinner (oatmeal for breakfast) and I actually begun to loose weight but my friend told me that I might as well eat a burger and fries because of what I put on my salad. This is a list of my typical salad:
Lettuce
Cheese
Eggs
Cucumbers
Mushrooms
Oil
Chicken
Vinegar
Croutons
Dressing (I fluctuate between Ranch and French)
I know eggs and cheese are high in fat but I'm still cutting my normal calorie intake. Sooooo, is this hurting me or helping me?

This seems fine. It does all depend on what is being put on the salad. By putting the chicken and eggs, you add protein, so you get a sense of feeling full. You add calcium with cheese and veggies. I do recommend that if you are making a salad try aiming for any lettuce other than iceburg. That is the lettuce with the fewest if hardly any nutrients. And you might want to watch what dressing you put on. You might be behaving with all the toppings but all it takes is a little too much dressing and it all goes down the drain. Typically the friendly dressings would be a oil or vinegar based dressing. Balsamic and Raspberry are two of my favorite. I do think that your diet should not consist of just salad. There are other nutrients that you need to get in. But if you can find ways of getting the necessary for the day, then keep it up!

I deeply agree with you. Try the olive oil or any poly unsaturated oil.And do not worry you need to have make atleast 2 spoonful of polyunsaturated oil as intake, it helps to burning out fats especially in your heart. (Olive is tasty and nuticious as salad dressing)

Eggs are fine. Limit the amount of cheese and leave out the oil. Make sure that the dressings you use are the ones without oil in them. There are plenty on the market. Croutons can also be a trap if you don't make them yourself. The bought ones can be coated with margarine, butter or oil to enhance the flavour. Also make sure that you have chicken chest(I couldn't put bre_st because it was considered to be mature content lol). It has the least amount of fat in it and the chicken skin is a real no-no.
