i absolutely love love love City of Angels. the way love is described in the movie is the love we all wish to find someday. what's the most romantic description of love that you've ever used or heard? i mean honest descriptions not pick-up lines.

I have found mine. He is just wonderful. We have been together for 8 years and married for 5. I told my husband before we got married that I would need the rest of his life to show him how much I loved him. That was one of those heartfelt moments. I am sure I have heard some more since I love romantic stuff, but I just cant think of any right now. I did really like that movie it was so intense.

I have found the love of my life or should I say that she found me. Hard to get is what I think did it. My, soon to be, tried and tried to spend time with me though I told her no 9 out of 10 times. Then it went down and I started saying yes more often. After a little while we started hanging out more and more. I even had a diciplinary day off of work (where I was supposed to be home writing a letter about why I want my job) that I spent with her. I kept telling her that I was not ready to settle down and I drank alot. We went overnight together at work and it was official. Everyone at work had thoughts the whole time but we told them we were "just friends." Bottom line, she did everything she could to get what she wanted and that moved me in the right direction. She would bring me lunch at work just so she could see me for a few minutes. Take calls in the middle of the night from me even though she had to be up at 5. She loaded, aimed, and fired....Together now and couldn't be happier.

I love that movie too. I don't have an angel, so you may say I'm doomed
I don't have a description of love to post, but, I do remember a line from a cartoon series called "Duck Dodgers in the 24th and 1/4 century", where Captain Dodgers, (played by Daffy Duck ) says something like:
"And now, I'll go to the woman I'll spend the rest of my life with... THE REST OF MY LIFE??? Wait a minute! But that's a lot of time! And when it ends I'm gonna die! And I don't wanna die!" And then he goes on and leaves her. Of course she had absolutely no idea she was supposed to spend her life with him, but that's another story...

When I first met my hubby (Robert) he suggested I watch City of Angels as it was his favorite movie. I received it through Netflix & loved it so I bought it. I would sit & watch it & cry because I wanted that kind of love. Eventually Robert & I got married. We would sit & watch that movie over & over & cry & cry. Robert had been through 2 REALLY BAD marriages before we met. He looked at me one day & said I'm so happy I met you. You complete me & I love you for it. Talk about crying. Since then hubby has passed so I can NO longer watch that movie as I fear I will totally fall apart!!! I had my angel now I miss my angel. I just hope I can find one more angel before I die!!!

I'm NOT out looking for another angel. It's just some times I'm soooo freakin lonesome, I pray God blesses me with another. That doesn't mean I'm looking to replace my angel. I think we can have more than one angel in our lives. NOBODY will EVER replace him!!! Question... You're a mother of 2. Did you stop loving the first child when you had the second one??? NO. Neither will I!!!

That's so sweet. I have only felt that way with my fiance. If anything ever happens to him I don't think I'd want to find another. I think I'll just stay in love with my memories of him. My mom lost the love of her life and hasn't found anyone else and doesn't want to. In a way it's sad but I think it's romantic and a great way to honor him and their love.

I'm sorry, I guess that sounded wrong. I didn't mean you were trying to replace him. You're right you can have more then one. No, I didn't love my first child less after the second one. I'm sorry if you took what I said in a bad way, it wasn't meant to be rude. Of course you aren't trying to replace him. I just think that what my mom is doing is a nice way to honor hers. No one wants to be alone. I hope God grants you your wish.

I don't have a great description.
I did love the movie. I would have preferred a different ending but at least it was true to life.

She deals with it in her own way. It happened 15 years ago and she hasn't dated since but she seems happy. He's her true love and she feels if she dates she'll be cheating. She lives to honor him not to mourn him.

That is incredibly sad. Sorry to hear that. Was she able to move on afterwards?

It's so sad too but kind of in a good way and bad at the same time. Thanks for your response.
