Getting stains out of clothes

My mom always told me not to put anything with a stain on it in the dryer because then the stain will be there forever. Well... I put some of my babys clothes in the dryer without checking them and they are stained. Any ideas how to get the stains out? They're mostly food stains (sweet potato and carrots) and he has a dark color vitamin that must've spilled on some of his clothes.

When my husband comes home from work he has all knid of stuff on his clothes and i use tide with bleach and for the tough stain I scrub the sope on the stain before I put it in the washer and the only stain I still can't get out is oil.
