How many languages do you speak? Just wondering how common it is to speak more than one.

That's funny cause in the US they love for us to be separated. We are encouraged to shy away from others because of our differences. We learn English and get mad when we here someone talking another language like they are wrong for this. I personally don't think like this but this is the general thought process with many of us here. We don't try to understand other cultures and bash them instead.
Me I speak, English, French, Spanish, and Arabic. Trying to learn Hebrew and Asian Languages. My sister in laws family is from Thailand.

Right now I'm looking into this program I saw on the TV for learning different languages through visual and audio stimulus. Looks interesting. I learned English from being born in the US of course, and Spanish from being raised in the Bronx. French I took in school from 7th grade until I graduated 12th grade. And Arabic I learned through studying Islaam. I am still learning a lot of Arabic, not brilliant!! But thank you

The best way to learn a language is to learn as much as you can and immerse yourself in this culture or language. I bet if I spent ten years in Japan I'd learn Japanese! It is just not convenient for all of us to do this. I'd commit it to audio and practice til I got it. Kind of like how we can learn our favorite songs after endless repetition, we can learn thru music.

I actualy speak 3 of them. My main language is spanish, but i speak english and german too. I think english is the best and easyest to learn one and also it is useful and speaken everywhere. I don't like german much becouse it is too hard and dificult, today i have had an exam on it =S (don't like it much but i go to a german shool so i have to learn it). I usualy have good notes at english withouth studying (with good i mean 9/10 or more) so i considerate i am good at it. Thats all, have a nice day!
