Does everyone know the real you?

You know when you make a new friend or meet a new guy you're always putting on your best face. It takes a while for you to really show your true colors to that person. Do you think that we eventually break down all those walls or do we still keep them up? Do our closest friends really know the real us? Sometimes I do things or even say things and I wonder "Where did that come from?" I didn't even know I had it in me. So when and how do we realize who we are? Is it something that we can do ourselves or do we need a little help along the way. I want you advice. Tell me what you think. There is no wrong answer.

I think my closest friends know the real me. I'm a different person at work than I am when I am not working. I have to be more serious and less silly. I laugh a lot less at work than I do at home. I am myself when I am around other people who make me feel comfortable, usually these people are those that I know accept me for who I am.

I think each person is different in their ability and desire to open up to other people. I am very reserved and don't like to have a ton of friends, I like to just have a few people that are really close. A lot of my peers are kind of the opposite; they like to have a bunch of acquaintances to hang out with at school or at parties, and not really have a close relationship with any of them.

I can truly say that I am who I am to everybody. I do not act differently to anybody because how will I know if they want to be my friend or anything else based on who I am. I want everone to accept me for me. If they don't, then they shouldn't be my friends, or whatever else they are. If you try to be somebody you're not and they wind up liking that person better, you will be putting on an act the whole lifetime that you know that person. It would kind of stink to not be who you really are and let everyone see all the good that the real you has to offer.

I'd like to think that people I know have the right idea about me. There could be a problem with that though. Particuraly family, love to complain to me about their problems. And most of the time, I do listen I will admit. But, we ALL have some type of an issue. I kind of feel like they should keep some of those things to themselves. I have my own life to worry of, and I'm expecting. So the last thing I really want to hear are negative things. They also like to say things behind other relatives backs. I feel like they shouldn't be so involved in their business, or they should address the problem with that particular person, not me. And I also wonder at times, if they say these things about them, what do they say about me? I just want to tell them to just shut up. lol. Not in that way, but I just want to let them know that it's really not my problem. Or in some cases, theirs. The reason why I don't is because I don't want to come across as mean, rude, or that I don't care. My sister has already told me in the past that I walk around with my nose in the air, but that's not the case at all. I just think that life is what you make it, and I will never have a pity me type of outlook on anything. But there are so many things we could talk about, and I'm so full of joy right now, I really don't want their negative talk to bring me down.
