Does a person's JOB have anything to do with their bedroom skills?

Apparently in a certain study, musicians and doctors ranked high on the ladies' list of being good lovers while army men, scientists and IT Technicians are at the bottom of the list!
Musicians are likely to be easy going, sensitive and creative with spontaneity, variety and fun and willing to try pretty much anything.
Doctors know what they are doing as they know their way around the body which helps of course; they're skilled and confident..
Scientists and IT Technicians are not sensitive and lack the ability to go with the flow and are introverts; are quiet and intense.
Army men are more practical though also caring and physically fit.
And may I add these were the rankings given by the ladies in this study and so it's mainly about the men in these professions..
What do you think? Is there any truth to any of this? Does a person's job have anything to do with their bedroom skills?! Or is this a load of... Nonetheless, quite funny and interesting to read for a singleton

I think that this shows generalization. Most musicians are probably of siilar temperament, therefore would be similar in making love. Same goes for all the other lifestyles. But in all of these, there are going to be many who do not conform. So I would not use it as a sole guide top selecting my kind of mate. It would only be part of the consideration. But I would like to see a similar study on females. It would be interesting as women have entered in many fields once thought to be for men only.

Was thinking the same thing too! I need some consolation as I work in IT and apparently we're boring according to this..Wanting to put out the lights..now there's some truth in that

See, already you are telling me that you do not conform to the survey. I think that this would be true for many people out there. It is a bit like the zodiac signs - yes when you read yours, you can see some things that apply to you but I am sure you could read other signs descriptions and you would see some things that are also you. This survey is the same in its generalization.

I know a man who served in the army , then went on to become a doctor and decided to use his education to do medical research (making him a scientist). On his time off he unwinds my playing his guitar, and he's an excellent player. Where does he fall in this study?

That sounds like a really interesting study, marina - I'm fascinated! I suppose it makes sense that the kind of personality which draws a man to his profession would also count in the bedroom. My poor lad is an IT tech and teacher - so he's right at the bottom of the list - but I've had 30 years with him, without complaint! I'd actually be a bit worried about a doctor ... especially a gyno - it would feel as if he was 'working' all the time - hahaha!

Hmmm, the article didn't say a thing about teachers... Now the gyno would be an interesting one to hear about
I am an IT professional so I am interested in hearing more about the female professions too and what men think of the various, excluding the 'naughty nurse' image of course..

I don't think you can really rely on those kinds of stereotypes when it comes to making love. Just because a man in quiet and somewhat introverted doesn't mean that he's going to be that way in the bedroom. My man works in IT and he is an amazing lover! He is very sensitive to my needs, despite how they have generalized IT people. This study might give a bit of insight into what types of personalities are found on these jobs, but job personality and bedroom personality are two completely different things sometimes!

I think that list is a generalization, and only includes a small group of people.
My boyfriend, who is cook...would be at the top of that list.
I also used to date a musician, and i wouldn't rank him up there so high as far as bedroom skills go.

It is very interesting, though not very many professions are covered. Then there is always someone who is in a job they aren't suited for. This is probably true of a lot of musicians. So, what if you have a musician who is now an IT Technician? Is he only so so in bed? :-D

This theory to day does not work. May it be a any thing you cite, or otherwise a corporate it depends upon how e reacts, I mean a doctor will reacts from the medical angle of view, and he is in no hurry and the Army man , who believe in success to acquire, and musician to influence and they behave in their own way. How about a corporate who has a work and work again to concentrate. his concentration is the success. How do you see it please comment and have a nice night.

I don't think it matter's what there job is. And yes it is funny. I dated a Dr. bad in bed. lol that is why I dated. as in no longer. They mite know where it's all at but how to make it work right not always. lol. Try Mech. not to bad. But you have to teach all men as we are all different. What one woman like's another won't. So yes I think it is a funny study. Read more of you later your friend Onlydia

I think everyone is different.Maybe they do the same work, but the people is not the same. Not all musicians are sensitive...
Did someone meet sensitive musicians?yes.
Did someone meet insensitive musicians?yes.
so we can't just use job to dinstinguish people,it's just job.
The individual should be touched, feeled, knowed by others.

I dont think its their job..but their mind...Musicians and artists in general for example are more often than not senstive, creative and excellent lovers (though not all..trust me I've been with a couple who were HORRIBLE in bed)...I think how a persons mind works is everything to do with skills not only in bed but in all areas of their lives and it just so happens that WHEN they follow their minds and souls they end up in the line of work like Doctor, Musician etc etc...but if a guy isnt meant for what he does that study would show it IMO....

Hmmmm the findings are interesting but I doubt there is much truth in there. I am sure there are plenty of people who don't conform to these types, and also there are thousands of jobs that don't fit into any of these categories given.

Actually, your question has set my mind ticking. When i read the discussion topic i thought that a profession of a person has nothing to do with personal life. But when i read your whole discussion i thought that you are right, because 8-9 hours in a day on is at the place of work an there is less time spent at home. So we end up embibing the quality of our profession, so if its a musician they are very artistic but on the other hand it its an army personel they are direct and right to the point, they do not like the mushy mushy stuff!!

There could be some truth to it, based from the reasons you mentioned. But it can't be all true all the time! I've always had this notion that dancers are good in bed since they have rhythm and timing. My husband's a really bad dancer, but you'll never hear me complaining in bed. *wink*
