What're some tips for buying and selling things?

I know there's that old adage of buying low and selling high, but it seems really hard to actually follow. Are there any good tips about how to buy things (say at a garage sale or on eBay) and then resell them for profit? So far most of what I've experienced has been that it's very difficult to actually generate profit off this.

I make lots of money from buying things and reselling them. But I only sell vintage or antiques. Just a couple of weeks ago I bought a piece of fabric for $1.00 and sold it for $132.00. You have to have an eye for things and experience helps a lot. I have been buying and selling for over 25 years. Tupperware sells well on ebay, especially the old stuff, look for that it's always very cheap at yard sales.

The problem with the auction sites are the fees ,the selling fees are high im sure that E bay must have been taking notice of this as they seem to be doing something called multiple listing now.But there were loads of us all saying that the bottom had come out of E bay, that the fees were killing it,so maybe now it will turn around a littlew bit.

Hey. Do not get discouraged. It takes some trial and error to learn what to look for. Do not underestimate anything. In addition to yardsales, you should check out thrift stores also. One trick that I learned. When shopping in the thrift store, If I see an item that I am not sure about, I will use my camera phone to take a picture of it or write the name of it down on a sheet of paper. Then when I get Home I do a completed listings search to see how much the item has sold for. If it is a good seller and it is still there the next time I go back to the thrift store then I buy it, If its not there then I know that next time I see it I should buy it. I posted a short video last week on you tube of some of the items I have found at flea markets, yard sales, and thrift store and sold for good profit. I will be adding more videos as I sell more items. My youtube Id is Reddogjf18. If you wanna see what I am selling on ebay right now and how it is doing, my ebay Id is jpdiscountsolutions, most of the items on ebay right now came from thrift stores. I hope to eventually start a website/blog, where other user and myself can post whant we found at yardsales, thrift stores, and flea markets and sold on Ebay for a nice profit. This will hopefully help eliminate some of the trial and error of new ebay users looking for quality product to sell. My biggest tip is...... NEVER throw anything away until you check it out on ebay. I have sold broken items for parts before and made a healty profit. Hope this helps.
