I have noticed it too. A lot of people tend to post to the easy, no brainer discussions. Here I try to make something of substance, get no responses, and you have people making bad discussions and getting a ton. I just don't get it.

I have not honestly made a whole lot of discussions in the short time I have been here so far. But you might be right. Though, whenever someone types a joke they heard, there's really not much I can respond with except for perhaps a "8D LOL"and that's not what I came here for. I love serious discussions because if I can give my opinion and talk about something, I feel good. I like it when I type a great response and the discussion starter is inspired or likes my response.

Are you fed up in making a good discussions? Don't be! Its what make you different from all the rest. There are a lot of them yes but not all, I seen great one. I couldn't imagine myLot having all just silly discussions. Where's fun in there? It is a dirty job but somebody has to do it. Our time will simply come...

I do both and haven't paid attention to which got more responses... I just like to joke and have fun as well as be educational and serious. If joking ones get more responses maybe that just means we want to be entertained more than be serious - as "life" in general is overly serious!

This is the norm around here. I think most of the newbies are immediately attracted to the silly stuff because it's easy to answer. And they probably end up responding to those more over time. I was the same way when I first started out. Now I find a balance between the lighter questions and the more serious ones.

Thats really a good response..and i totally agree with you that newbies are easily attracted to such silly ones than the ones which are serious really!

yes, I observed that too. I read a very silly discussion sounds like nonsense but it has 10 pages responses. I did not add to the number I just read their silly responses too. I understand that these people who are doing this just want try if there are those who would buy it. Sure there are.. some are upset in their response, some are making fun and really nonsense responses. Some made insult.. and sure it was considered as hottest which made the author popular. It is just funny that people are really responding to it.

hi dear friend,,
well it means there are lots of member who like silly one.. but i think it doesn't matter that how much response you get.. it is more important that your discussion must go in right direction..
have a nice day...

actually the main reason is that,, silly discussions are easy and if you want to attach with any serious discussions you have to involve fully or partially.. but silly discussion doesn't need any involvement..

I think some people don't like to think deep thoughts and carry on serious discussions. They lighten up their day with trivial conversation because it's been a long hard day and it's time to unwind. I've noticed that most serious discussions don't get many responses unless they are about politics of religion, two subjects I don't like to discuss because some people get really ugly if you disagree with them.

yeah, some times in the discussions on religion there are too many ugly responses..they keep boasting their own or blaming the others..RESPECT ALL is my motto..

This is the serious problem. People do not want to read the discussion with some contents and substance but are interested in the line one or two discussion how are you or how do you do or so on. Real discussions are seldom responded. This is a hard luck for those like you who wrote a lot for others who do not bother to even see it and respond.

I must admit that I do respond to some of the silly discussions just because I get bored. I don't respond to things like what color is your cell phone, or what is your favorite color, or anything like that. What is the point? A one word response does not constitute a discussion, in my opinion. If, and when I do start a discussion, I try to make it either interesting or meaningful. I feel I have accomplished something if I get 10 responses.

Hehe. This itself is a silly discussion and got 20+ responses already. Lol. I think this is because people are here to have fun. They just don't want to strain themselves by responding to serious discussions. I am like that only. Lol. It depends on the mood. If I am so happy(which I will be always) I will respond to silly discussions. Lol. If I am little serious or upset, I will start giving my advice. So I go to serious discussions. Depending on the mood, we will be automatically attracted to that type of discussions. This is my view in this topic. Happy mylotting.

I prefer the "no brainer" disucssions where I can leave a 3--4 line comment. Anything political or seriouse i tend to skip. The more responses, the higher the earning, correct? Maybe I'll try a "silly" discussion and see what happens. Thanks.

Hey ds,
It makes since sorta b/c ppl just wanna be silly & feel light hearted when they're chatting w/ friends-you know how it is w/ that "one" friend who tells you how bad their day was nearly every time you see them lol
That's not to say I don't think we're here to help or fellow MyLotters who are going through a difficult time-believe me there have been many prayers for my family from right here & Lord did it help
cool discussion |;)

Oh yeah! What you have said is very true. I get the impression sometimes that a lot of people on myLot don't really like to think about what they post--just want to keep the numbers up. Silly questions are a lot easier to answer.

Sometimes we need a little silliness in our dull dreary lives.
And sometimes a serious discussion might be something we aren't comfortable talking about or something we just don't know about.
I wouldn't worry about it as long as the responses that you did get were well thought out responses that were on topic.

It is sort of the trend here if you have noticed. If you would visit the "today's top discussions" and "hot discussions", you would notice that only a few of them are serious discussions.
Most myLotters just want to have fun. I think most of them want to unwind. And most of them want topics which are light.
Have a nice day!

i cant fully go with your thoughts.
its not like that. if the topic and discussions are intresting once,
and of they can feel those words then they will definitely post their responces regarding that.
and also poor knowledge in the topic may feel like strange to them,so we can not expect reply from them .right?
anyone can respond to silly discussions,if those resopnces also silly you can accept.
think about the situation if the same person responding for good discussion in a silly manner.can you accept it...?
what would be your reaction..wont you bite them... :P
if your topic is very specific means then you can not expect more and more responces, you will get only few responces.
but those will be very healthy once.i can assure it.
am i right friend..?
